Swapna Pawar

Worked as a Project Associate on research projects commissioned by WHO and Harvard T H Chan School of Public Health. Mainly involved in project management, liaising with Government bodies at local, district and state levels, qualitative and secondary quantitative data collection, data transcription and translation, data analysis and report writing.

Managing a team of 100 community health workers, 20 field facilitators, 2 project managers, 4 auxiliary nurse midwives, 2 drivers for Medical Mobile Units and one medical doctor working for the sexual and reproductive health of young married women living in 100 slums in Pune, Recruited, trained and supervised project staff at various levels. Networking with stakeholders like community members, health care providers at both private and public facilities, health department officials of Pune Municipal Corporation for coordination and implementation of project activities.

Completed secondary literature review to understand the effect of climate change and other environmental factors on the epidemiology of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) in South-East Asia. Compiled a draft of final report including desk review of policies and programs for the adaptation of climate change and control for the NTDs in South-East Asian countries.

Worked in a role of ‘Scientist C’. Handled qualitative component of a nationwide study to evaluate NACO’s programme for early infant diagnosis of HIV. Recruited, trained and supervised a team of 12 Research Associates involved in data collection. Coordinated, monitored and effectively completed data collection at more than 60 sites in 11 states from more than 350 study participants. Compiled, coordinated data transcription and translation processes. Assisted in primary data analysis, quarterly and annual report writing.

Worked as Sr. Investigator on different studies related to mental health, sexual health, HIV etc. Worked on quantitative study, psychometric analysis, and systematic review etc. Co-authored 3 manuscripts for scientific publications.

Worked as Program Manager for a public health intervention project, built and implemented Logframe Analysis for smooth project implementation, got involved in training and supervision, contributed in advocacy and networking with Government officials, private and public health care providers and community leaders for implementation of project activities.
