Being Head (Trade Finance) at IFSC Banking Unit, I am handling team of 3 officers in Trade Finance and responsible for management of Trade Portfolio which includes:-


  • Identification and acquisition of New Corporate clients and maintaining relationship with existing corporate clients to get their trade credit requirements like Buyers Credit, Suppliers Credit, RA financing, Export LC discounting and Supply Chain Financing, Letter of Credit, Bank Guarantee, Invoice Financing, Invoice Discounting etc.


  • Management of existing corporate clients portfolio of approximately 900 Corporate clients with total exposure of approx. USD 1300.00 Mn. spread around 1000 live transactions at any point of time. It also includes timely processing & disbursement of trade credit requests. Document Handling, Due diligence, Compliance check of fresh trade credit requests.
  • Maintaining & developing relationships with trade finance desk of various Indian Banks and Foreign Banks to expand and diversify trade finance portfolio.
  • Ensuring achievement/surpassing of Business Targets in Trade Finance.
  • Submitting data related to Trade Finance to higher management and Regulators as per their requirement in accurate manner adhering to timeline.
  • Representing Trade Finance portfolio during various meetings with higher authorities/Regulators/Auditors.
  • Train and handholding of new forex officers to create pool of trained officers as succession planning.

Being Relationship Manager/Unit Head (Corporate Credit) of the Branch, I was handling team of 6 credit officers and responsible for management of Advance Portfolio of Corporate Credit which includes:-


  • Identification and acquisition of New Corporate Advance accounts to provide Working Capital Finance [Overdraft, Letter of Credit, Bank Guarantee, Invoice Financing, Trust Receipt, Supply Chain Finance], Trade Finance [Reimbursement Financing, Trade Credit under SBLC, Funding under UPAS structure, Invoice/Cheque/Bills Discounting, Bills Purchase]and Term Finance.
  • Management of existing corporate advance portfolio of approximately 100 Corporate clients with total exposure of approx. AED 1400.00 Mn which includes timely review/renewal/enhancement of credit facilities, monitoring execution of their routine trade finance transactions/operation and monitoring of these accounts.
  • Maintaining & developing relationships with trade finance desk of various Banks in India to extend trade credit under trade finance to the suppliers of Indian Importers based in UAE/Other parts of the world.
  • Ensuring achievement/surpassing of Branch Target in Corporate Credit.
  • Assessment of credit requirement (Working Capital, Trade Finance & Term Loan, Project Financing, Real Estate) of various clients engaged in the field of Petrochemical, Refining, Shipping, EPC Contractors, Real Estate, Textile, Printing, Manufacturing, Retail & Wholesale Trade and various other types of activities.
  • Prepare and submit Credit Proposals (Fresh/ review/renewal/enhancement) to Credit Processing Cell and getting the credit facilities sanctioned/reviewed.
  • Carrying out post sanction credit functions such as legal documentation, creation of Pledge/Mortgage/ Assignment of various security assets with Dubai/other Courts and with various Industrial Zones such as Hamriyah Free Zone, SAIF Zone, JAFZA and RAKIA.
  • Management of stressed accounts which includes monitoring of SMA (Special Mention Accounts), resolution/restructuring/recovery of NPA accounts.

  • Due to my personal efforts this Branch becomes specialist in Road Project Financing under BOT/Hybrid model having exposure of around INR 1200 cr.
  • All the works related to credit includes Review, Review with enhancement, Fresh Proposal processing, documentation, disbursements, monitoring, recovery, attending various consortium meetings etc.

  • Due to efficient handling and canvassing of new credit proposals and processing and get it sanctioned, the Bhopal Region becomes the number 1 region in Bank of Baroda in terms of credit growth/credit quality.
  • I had financed some good projects under renewable energy i.e. Wind Energy projects apart from financing to manufacturing and service sector.
  • Build and trained a team of credit officers and provided handholding to them as succession planning.
