- Extensive experience in various trust related processes such as - new accounts, terminations/closing/successor trustee, age attainment/right of withdrawal (ROW), rental and non-rental real estate property, unitrust, 65-day election, agent for trustee, amendments, multiple resident and non-resident state filings etc.
- Provided end to end support for tax compliance of trusts including filing tax returns, estimates, extensions and amendments by extensively analyzing the financial reports and other reporting documents provided by the client as Tax Consultant.
- Resolved various Tax Notices and Displayed leadership by managing a team in determining the nature of notices and in updating Power of Attorney. Performed with due diligence on receiving notices for each trust and drove them to resolution. Ensured that for any trust with payment dues, always took proactive measures to make the payment as a voucher payable to IRS avoiding further notices with interest and penalty.
- Preparation and review of foreign filings in the Trusts- Form 926, 8621 and 8938.
- Computing Tax Estimates (safe harbor/annualized method) payable to the taxing authorities.
- Income tax research and analysis using CCH Answer connect and BNA for any specialized tax situations.
- Developed staff on the engagements by designing standard process manuals related to complex work processes.
- Facilitated orientation and training sessions for new team members and peers in a senior role, providing valuable guidance and support.
- Presented an annual debrief presentation deck to the client, engaging in discussions about areas for process improvement.
- Prepared and reviewed estate 1041s with good proficiency in estate taxation concepts and compliance requirements.
