Research Experience

Scoping Review on (MCEDs) was the dissertation topic for MPH

  • Designed a search strategy along with search terms for conducting a literature search on online databases- PubMed, Google Scholar and Embase.
  • Devised a screening framework to include and exclude literature by using the online software- Rayyan and presented in a PRISMA diagram.
  • Discussed the finalized article in a scientific report. Successfully used Reference Manager Zotero for this scoping review, The review was backed by the JBI methodology.

A qualitative study looking at the perspectives of Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) towards MCEDs - 9A randomized control trial with over 140,000 participants at the NHS)

  • Designed a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis (Braun and Clarke, 2014) with HCPs working on an MCED test.
  • Designed a topic guide and recruited HCPs such as Academic GPs, Research Nurses, Trial Managers and Trial Coordinators for the study via emails
  • Successfully conducted semi-structured interviews on Microsoft Teams, transcribed these interviews and uploaded the transcripts for thematic analysis in the qualitative-data analysis software- NVivo
  • Upon generating codes and themes in the software, discussed these in the report and used verbatim transcripts as evidence.

Critical Evaluation of The NHS Infectious Disease Screening Programme in Pregnancy in England

  • Conducted a literature search to describe the screening programme that prevents syphilis, HIV and hepatitis B transmission from mother to child.
  • Defined key point indicators, identified gaps in the literature and made appropriate recommendations

Healthcare Needs Assessment of dementia patients in the London Borough of Barnet

  • Effectively used the Stevens and Raftery approach to determine the epidemiological, comparative and corporate components
  • Defined key point indicators, identified gaps in the literature and made appropriate recommendations & carried out secondary data analysis to make comparison & making recommendations to the Borough of Barnet
