Research gave me a strong grasp of legal concepts and how to analyze complex legal issues. I'm passionate about sharing my love of law and utilize my knowledge of advanced teaching methods such as team learning and clinical method of learning in order to develop and promote high-order thinking skills that increase the performance of the students. I want to create a dynamic learning environment that helps students think critically and understand the law deeply.

a) Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, Washington, DC
- Working under the “Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids” Project towards conducting legal research and developing policies on Tobacco Control Laws.
- Regularly attending CTFK meetings and developed a White Paper on “State Initiatives in Tobacco Control”.
- Organized workshops for the state nodal officers fostering discussions on the tobacco control law and strategies for curbing tobacco use.
- Developed a comprehensive report summarizing the workshop and the key policy considerations which was appreciated by the funders and recognised by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (GoI).
- Worked on the letter sent to the Prime Minister, Health Minister, GoI, and Health Minister, Government of Karnataka (GoK) in support of COTPA Amendment and OTT rules with other supporting documents. The GoK considered our request and recently banned Hookah Bar by amending COTPA.
- Conducting research on the effectiveness of using existing laws on misleading advertising to control tobacco usage.
- Drafting of research proposals for the next term and other projects.
b) Building an AI Chatbot for Consumer Grievances in India, Meta
- Development of general corpus for training of the AI chatbot and guiding the student volunteers.
- Recruitment of Student RAs for the project
- Allotment of work and coordination with the team and guiding the students w.r.t. their work
- Attending team meetings
- Helping the team to create a dataset for training the chatbot to help the consumers with their consumer disputes. This involves the development of synthetic chats, legal notices, complaint copies, affidavits and memorandum of parties.
- Verification of work done by the Research Assistants under the project
c) Direct Selling Project in collaboration with the Indian Direct Selling Association, New Delhi
- Research on laws pertaining to Direct Selling businesses in India and its implications on direct selling entities and direct sellers.
- Developed a comprehensive manual showing the contribution of direct selling businesses to the economy, differentiation between authentic direct selling businesses and Ponzi schemes, laws applicable and way forward.
- Conducted field visits wherein team visits were done to various direct selling entities in Bangalore to gather first-hand information regarding the operation of direct selling businesses.
- Developed the Draft Rules for Monitoring Mechanisms to be established for monitoring and supervising direct selling entities and direct sellers which was shared with the Department of Consumer Affairs, GoI and the State and UT Governments for their reference.
- Organised webinars to sensitize the to facilitate sharing of experience and evolve through discussions, efficacious recommendations establishment of a Monitoring Mechanism. The then Additional Secretary, Hon’ble Nidhi Khare Ma’am inaugurated one of the webinars and had participants from various states.
d) Chair Activities for Chair on Consumer Law and Practice
- Orgainsed Training Programme for the Members of District Consumer Commissions of Kerala. It included organising, developing the reading material, hosting the workshop.
- Organising different competitions like reel making and essay competitions, to engage student participation and foster the culture of learning alongside spreading awareness on consumer issues.
- Took care of internships under the Chair which included work allotment, guiding the students with their tasks and educating them about consumer laws.
- Worked on the Chair publications- The Bi-Annual Newsletter of the Chair (March of Consumer Law and Practice) and the Journal (international Journal on Consumer Law and Practice) indexed on SCOPUS and UGC CARE
- Responsible for social media management of the Chair which included populating information pertaining to Chair activities to engage active participation and sharing news and writing blogs on consumer issues to enlighten the consumers about their rights.
- Organising and moderating panel discussions on contemporary consumer law issues to shed light on these issues and their implication of consumer protection.
- Played a key role on revamping the Chair’s website (clap.nls.ac.in) by helping with the design aspect and furnishing relevant information.
- Assisted in administrative work of the Chair.
Assisted the mentor in drafting of bails, appeals, written submissions of various civil cases, anticipatory bails, legal letters, and legal notices; Researched on various propositions related to IPC, Contracts Act and Transfer of Property Act and prepared case briefs & legal opinions on the same; Assisted the senior during the court hearings.
