The Lifestyle Editor

Ever since I can remember, I have been mesmerised by fashion and design. People around me would frequently compliment my innate sense of style and innovative combinations. It wasn’t unusual that a family member, a friend or a colleague would ask me for advice on what to wear and what to buy. I revelled in these moments, and would dream of one day becoming a personal and home stylist.

Years of exciting travel and corporate careering later, I can say that I am living the dream. It has been quite a journey but one I am truly grateful for.

In India, I developed an early fascination with colours and their exciting interplays. In New York, I became all the more entranced by the diversity and eclectic nature of fashion and design. In Singapore, I fell head over heels for the green, tropical tones. In Hong Kong and later in Singapore - where I now live - I am fascinated by the contemporary expression of art, culture and, of course, style. Each place, on its own, and as a collective, has contributed to the knowledge and creativity I put into my work as The Lifestyle Editor.

Of course, living around the world is only a part of my education. I chose to train professionally as a personal stylist at the London College of Style while I established my expertise in home decor through interactive workshops at the Insight School of Interior Design in Hong Kong. It has been a privilege to be a part of both these institutions and learn from some of the best and the brightest in the business.

Personal styling and home styling is not just about the exterior: it is the way you show up for the world, and more importantly for yourself. It is about celebrating your authenticity by revealing your unique style. The most rewarding part of my job is having clients tell me how much more confident they feel when they ‘look the part’ for a special occasion or how their home space has transformed into a precious heaven of their own in which they love to spend quality time with their loved ones. This is what living the dream is all about: doing what you love to do for the benefit of others.
