• Prepare the operating theatre for surgical procedure,cleaning and sterilizing equipment, surgical instrument and OT itself.
• Monitor and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedure so that no non-sterile items come contact with the patient or surgical instrument.
• Assist the surgical team by passing the instrument and holding the retractor.
• Set up and check equipment such as anesthesia machine, monitor and light, to ensure they are functioning properly or not.
• Clean and restock the OT after each procedure.
• Document and report any issues and concerns to the surgical team or supervisors.

I have been working as OTA and tried to perform well so that smooth functioning of operation could take place which includes preparing the operating theatre for surgical procedure cleaning and sterilizing equipment, surgical instruments and operating theatre itself.

I have provided support to Surgeon, Anesthesiologists, and nurses during surgical procedure by ensuring all the necessary equipments and supplies are well available and that the OT is maintained with high standard of hygiene and safety.
