• Five-Year Mining Operations Planning and Optimization: The objective was to maximize profitability while adhering to operational constraints At most three mines could operate simultaneously in any given year, and non-operational mines required royalty payments unless they were permanently closed. The goal was to determine the optimal operating and closure strategy to minimize costs and maximize resource extraction.
• Warehouse Location Optimization for Supermarket Expansion : The objective was to determine the optimal number and locations of warehouses from a set of candidates, balancing the tradeoff between delivery costs and the fixed costs of opening new facilities. The challenge involved minimizing the average distance trucks travel to deliver goods while managing the expenses associated with building and operating multiple warehouses.
• Taxi Demand Prediction in New York City: Developed a time-series forecasting and regression model to predict the number of pickups in New York and its surrounding areas based on location coordinates (latitude, longitude) and time. Applied Linear Regression, Random Forest Regression, Xgboost regression and did model comparison.
