  • Aditya Project: IIA is involved in developing a payload, i.e., Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) for Testing of Optical assemblies for payload.
  • VELC is designed for simultaneous spectroscopic observations of solar corona in coronal emission lines centred at 530.3 nm, 789.2 nm and 1074.7 nm and continuum imaging of solar corona at 500 nm.

  • Working with external camera manufacturer for developing and calibration of thermal camera for using it in ophthalmology.

  • Design of transmission optics: An optical system was designed to add camera into the existing biomicroscope of a slit lamp.

  • Optics lab: Involved in establishing and management of the optics lab wherein this lab would be help in quick prototyping of the optical systems and establishing proof of concepts.

  • Adoptive optics scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope project which is in collaboration with University of Rochester.
  • Learnt system building and calibration followed by an active involvement in clinical imaging.
  • The imaging objectives were to see the different layers of retina; to see the image of different locations on the retinal layers for both normal and pathological subjects.
  • Illumination Design: As part of the cost reduction initiative, new LED illumination modules were designed to replace the conventional modules.
  • Light Tools' was used as a design platform and the principle of 'Koehler illumination' was simulated for the evaluation of different LED configurations.
  • AGV Data Analysis: Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) is a glaucoma drainage device which is used to control intraocular pressure in glaucomatous eyes.
  • Custom programs were written in MATLAB to construct the flow characteristic curves and for representation of data qualitatively.
