Project 1: Sparak Banking Tools
- I have been working as a COBOL developer for the past 2+ years.
- Developed, tested, and maintained COBOL applications for various business processes, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Collaborated with cross-functional teams to analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications, improving project outcomes.
- Conducted unit testing and quality assurance, identifying and resolving defects to enhance software quality.
- Provided production support, performed root cause analysis on issues, and implemented permanent fixes to minimize downtime.
- In my role as the key person in the development and support of a banking tool, I contributed to a system utilized by several banks for their daily operations. This tool facilitates a range of banking activities, enhancing efficiency and functionality.
- I led various development initiatives, implementing new features and improvements based on client needs. My responsibilities included providing support for Critical Fault Tolerance (CFT) issues, where I ensured that any problems faced by banks were resolved within an 8-hour timeframe to minimize disruptions.
- Additionally, I was responsible for managing publication changes and compliance updates in response to regulatory changes issued by the U.S. government, ensuring that our tool remained compliant with all necessary standards. I also supported year-end activities, assisting banks in executing critical processes and reporting.
- My role extended to overseeing the execution of corn jobs for nightly processes, ensuring their smooth operation. I actively participated in both unit and manual testing for the development work, maintaining high quality and reliability in our releases. Furthermore, I was involved in deconversion activities for banks transitioning away from our tool, providing essential support during this process.
- Throughout this project, I utilized various tools, including COBOL, TFS, Anziolite, Winsap, and Acubench, to enhance development efficiency and streamline operations.
Project 2: Healthcare Edtech Company
- I provisioned and managed AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, and VPC, to create scalable, efficient cloud solutions. Leveraged AWS Secrets Manager for secure storage of sensitive data, and implemented robust security practices across the environment. Configured auto-scaling and Elastic Load Balancer (ELB) to ensure high application availability, and optimized performance. Additionally, I utilized Amazon CloudWatch for monitoring, enabling proactive issue detection and resolution, while managing costs through AWS Cost Explorer and Reserved Instances.
- I also administered IAM roles and policies to enforce secure resource access, and streamlined deployment processes using AWS CodePipeline and Jenkins. Designed secure network environments with VPCs, Security Groups, and AWS Shield to protect against potential threats. Developed automation solutions with Lambda and CloudWatch Events to improve operational efficiency. In addition, I provided technical support, resolving client issues promptly, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships.
