  • Evidence analysis for SBCC Planning: Collected and analysed NFHS-5 data, Anemia Mukt Bharat reports, Growth monitoring data from women and child development department, census and other online survey results and identified barriers for behaviour change and presented to heads of departments. Accordingly, communication strategy, plans and materials were developed.
  • Technical assistance to departments: Participated in various state and district level program meetings and presented SBC action plans and communication material and training packages for programs namely World Breastfeeding Week, Poshan Maah INAP, IMI 5.0. At the request of the state government, facilitated communication plans and packages for Respectful Maternity Care, SUMAN, Adolescent Mental Health etc., 7500 Health facilities used these SBC action plans and communication materials. Developed comprehensive SBCC plans with estimated costs, focusing on critical issues such as anemia, SAM/MAM, Intensive Mission Indradhanush, INAP and Routine Immunization, thereby ensuring efficient resource allocation and program effectiveness.
  • Capacity Building: Successfully trained over 650 NSS Program Officers from 13 universities, 60 CRPs of SERP-AP, 50 APSIRD faculty, 26 DIOs, 26 DPMs, and 13 District Coordinators equipping them with essential knowledge on nutrition and routine immunization and created a network of informed change agents. Facilitated diverse training sessions for, enhancing their proficiency in SBCC techniques and reinforcing the importance of key health messages.
  • Partnerships for Social & Behaviour Change: A fruitful partnership with the NSS Cell at Andhra University, fostering collaboration for the effective dissemination of SBCC messages and initiatives. Which reached out to 2.8 lakh community members in their respective target villages with messages on Ending Child Marriage, Nutrition, Anemia, WASH. Initiated discussions with key stakeholders such as the APSIRD, SERP, Tribal, Agriculture Department and Noora Health, for the new partnerships to engage more with men and influence of the communication efforts.
  • Advocate with and support state government/s on Implementation: Advocated for and supported the state government in aligning resources and providing technical expertise to ensure the effective rollout of INAP, IDFC, SAANS, WBW initiatives. Approximately 2croes budget allocated for SBC activities in 7500 health facilities.
  • Development and adaptation of communication and training materials: Developed and adapted communication, training materials for campaigns such as Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight, SANNS, World Breastfeeding Week, Mission Indradhanush, Poshan Maah, Raise above 12 and Respectful Maternity Care, thereby promoting positive behaviour change. 7500 Health facilities of 26 districts used these communication materials. Facilitated discussions to integrate SBCC modules into training events organized by APSIRD, SERP, Agriculture Department and Noora Health, to amplify the impact of communication strategies beyond traditional channels and to reach men.
  • Monitoring & Documentation of SBC action in the field: Monitored the progress of community engagement activities during Poshan Maah, World Breastfeeding Week, SAANS, screening of Anemia, Mission Indradhanush, and Gender Campaigns in the districts of Andhra Pradesh. These comprehensive monitoring efforts influenced government stake holders to plan programmes, contribute to effective community engagement and achieving the aims of these initiatives on the ground. Documentation has contributed to guide forthcoming strategies and decision-making processes for prevention Anemia, malnutrition, RI and INAP initiatives.

  • Developed strategy, Logical Framework, Planning and Monitoring & Research and Evaluation plan for 8 projects to reduce malnutrition and childhood illnesses, 7 Projects enhance quality education and 15 Projects to strengthen child participation and protection systems with coverage of 400 villages of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
  • Provided supervision to 120 staff in 29 projects in 15 area development programs that are spread across Uttar Pradesh & Uttarakhand states catering to population of 2 million. The projects implemented in these areas are diverse in nature such as improving awareness among vulnerable communities in breastfeeding / childhood diseases, nutrition, immunization, education, Child participation and Protection.
  • Conducted technical evaluation of 29 project design documents that include proposal, logical/results framework and annual action plans and ensured child protection/participation standards, SBCC and gender themes are integrated as per the organizational standards and donor requirements.
  • Collaborated with technical specialists (nutrition, education, health and child protection) and have undertaken several joint monitoring visits and established design, monitoring and evaluation systems across 29 projects.
