Key Responsibilities:

• Designing and preparing a Detailed Plan, Profile, and TCS drawings as per IRC, considering the existing conditions of the highway, forest stretches, land acquisition issues, terrain constraints, and client requirements.
• Flexible and Rigid pavement design and analysis using IRC 37 and 58, including the calculation of traffic and axle loading using the survey data.
• Conducted a Financial Analysis using Discounted Cash Flow model (DCF) for the Highway project, including the calculation of toll rates as per NHAI Toll Notifications and toll revenue based on the existing and projected traffic. IRC SP:136 2023 was used for various assumptions taken during the analysis.
• Conducted an Economic Analysis for highway projects as per IRC SP 30, which included the calculation of benefits with respect to Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC) and Travel Time Savings.
• Coordination and collaboration with teams from various disciplines, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals, resources, and timelines, for successful project execution.

DPR projects

• Karanja to Pulgaon (100Km) : The project involves widening a 2-lane, 100 km stretch of road in Central Maharashtra, under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MORTH). This initiative aims to enhance the road infrastructure, improve traffic flow, and support regional connectivity.
• Charoti-Igatpuri, (90 km): The project is a greenfield expressway starting from NH 48 and connecting to the Samruddhi Expressway, designed to facilitate the seamless movement of goods between the under-construction Vadhavan Port and the Samruddhi Expressway.

Detailed Design Projects

• Improvement from Pachora to Pahur road (SH-19), ADB 42, 35Km, Executing Authority - PWD Maharashtra.
• Improvement from Pachora to Satgaon road (SH-184), EPC 28C, 20 Km, Executing Authority - MSIDC.
• Improvement from Gujrat Border to Ranale Chhavdvel road (SH-7), EPC 39, 42 Km, Executing Authority - PWD Maharashtra.
• Improvement of Tisgaon-Shevgaon-Pategaon highway (SH - 148), EPC 30C, 40 Km, Executing Authority - MSIDC.

The prestigious Versova Virar Sea Link Project (VVSLP) consists of 42.75 km of Main Sea Link and 52 km of road on four connectors (Charkop, Uttan, Vasai, and Virar). The purpose of the project is to provide an Outer Ring Road concept for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

The Konkan Expressway is approximately 400 km, 6-lane access-controlled Greenfield Expressway from Mumbai to Goa. The purpose of the project to solve high speed connectivity issues between Mumbai and Goa, connecting the remote scenic beaches and attraction of the Konkan Region to promote tourism.

My responsibilities includes, but are not limited to:

• Conducting comprehensive Traffic Analysis using CTS, 2017, for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, GDP growth, per capita income, population growth, and traffic surveys.
• Composed and compiled Detailed Project Report (DPR) document, which includes details of traffic survey, topo survey, dispersal scheme, preliminary design, intelligent transport systems (ITS), project cost, and financial and economic analysis of the project.
• Preparation of a detailed plan, profile, and TCS drawings, including the Design of Interchanges.
• Identifying stakeholders and facilitating Effective Communication and Collaboration with various stakeholders, such as Municipal Corporations, NHAI, Western Railway, Central Railway, MSRDC, high-speed rail, Dedicated Freight Corridor, and Metro Authority, to incorporate stakeholder requirements into project specifications.
• Coordination with MMRDA officials for project clearances, issuing necessary letters to stakeholders, and preparing Impact Presentations to communicate project progress and requirements effectively.
• Coordination with subconsultants, the team, and MMRDA officials for the smooth progress of the project.
• Reviewing survey data and deliverables received from sub-consultants to ensure accuracy and reliability in project planning and execution.

TRANSPORT ECONOMICS APPRAISAL PROJECTS (UK REGION)

Working with the Transport Planning team, the job was to support Atkins UK in preparing Economic Appraisal Reports by conducting Accident Analysis and Transport User Benefits Analysis.

• I have executed distinct accident analyses for four different schemes, complying with TAG (Transport Analysis Guidance) guidelines.
• The analysis was done using COBA LT (Cost and Benefit Analysis for Accidents) software, for which the inputs were prepared in Excel, and the data was visualized in QGIS.
• A sense check was carried out on the results for self-validation of the process used.
• Justification of results was provided using maps and a technical note to the client.
• Additionally, I worked in the M5J9 scheme, where my role was to evaluate the User Benefits using the TUBA (Transport User Benefits Appraisal) software.
• The user benefits for all the modes, time, and purpose of travel were added up for each sector.
• The User-Benefits Origin-Destination matrix was prepared, and the results were analyzed for each O-D pair.
• The projects required constant engagement with the modeling and environment team to understand the intervention provided, the scheme area impacted, traffic count, and any changes in the modeling during the analysis.

DETAILED DESIGN OF WIDENING OF N70 RURAL MOTORWAY WITH CYCLE TRACK

The N70 Sneem to Blackwater Bridge Road Project is a 2.9 km cycle track widening project. The purpose of the project is to realign the motorway with the addition of a cycle track on one side. Type 3 rural single carriageway motorway with a 6m carriageway width and mountainous terrain. The project included 6 side roads and 12 farm access roads, with 1 side road realigned to improve traffic circulation, as there is a church and a school nearby. My responsibilities included:

• Swept path analysis using vehicle tracking, T-junction 2-D layout check using TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) guidelines, and modeling for side roads in Civil 3D.
• Design of Road Marking and Traffic Signs Using TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) TSM Manuals.
• Performed Visibility Analysis for traffic signs and centerline design in Civil 3D.

Aviation Projects (USA, North America Region)

The team was built to support the company’s U.S. Aviation department for design and drawing production. I worked on various projects where I was responsible for preparing exhibits for an airport development plan, including demolition, geometry, plan and profile, runway marking, and taxiway/taxi lane marking drawings, as per FAA guidelines.

• Using the exhibits from the previous projects, replicate the drawings, set the viewport, key plan, and layout for the current project. Update the drawings as per the markup provided, perform a quantity takeoff, prepare the demolition plan, and set the 2D layout using the guidelines.

Roundabout and carpool 3D modeling in OpenRoads (Denmark region).

Vestfyn is a high-speed rail project. The company was responsible for 3D modeling of the Uni-Directional Sloping Roundabout and carpool area as part of the Preliminary Concept Design. The 2D layout and the proposed slopes for the final surface were provided by the client.

• Assisted the designer in creating the template, and fixed the unidirectional slope for the roundabout.
• Created a tie-in for two roundabout arms, with a traffic island for the approach and exit. Assisted in fixing the profiles for carpool area.

Pavement Renewal/Investigation Scheme (CPS) (UK Region)

• Connect Plus Service (CPS) is based in the UK and is responsible for Asset management and Maintenance of the M25 road (London Outer Ring Road), which is a 200 km long motorway divided into multiple schemes.
• My role was to deliver location, pavement and construction drawings, work information/specification documents using DMRB codes and MCHW (Vol. 1) guidelines, pre-construction information, Design Hazard Elimination Report (DHEM) using the Rapid Environment Impact Assessment report, and traffic management and diversion-related documents.
• Constant engagement with the client and Effective supply of information were necessary for the timely and quality delivery of the work.
• Coordination with CAD technicians, rechecking the design as per the client's perspective and data provided, data validation, and handling multiple schemes simultaneously were the challenges faced while working.
• Executed traffic sign renewal sign, where the team was responsible for delivering sign location and sign details drawings, design of traffic signs in PDS sign software using the TSM manuals, Atkins guidance document, and TSRGD 2016, post and foundation design through Buchanan SignLoad software, preparation of work information, pre-construction information, design hazard elimination report, and traffic management and diversion drawings.
