Project-1: Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) Service for Syniverse

Role: Providing and supporting the EDT service for Syniverse, a company that routes billions of text messages and other data for wireless carriers and operators worldwide.
Service Function: Acts as a generic gateway for all Syniverse non-direct application data transfers, using FTP, SFTP, and NDM protocols to send and receive files from various sources and destinations.
Team: consists of 15 members working in a Linux/Unix environment 24/7, with Oracle 11g database and various tools such as SecureCRT, Putty, SQL Developer, BMC Remedy, and Netcool.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring feeds/files for respective regions and times (EU/NA/IDC).
  • Checking logs for unprocessed or failed files and following up with customers to resolve issues.
  • Performing initial troubleshooting and providing support during maintenance, implementation, or upgrades.
  • Editing configuration files with vi editor, bouncing the config, and reprocessing files.
  • Manually transferring files with FTP/SFTP based on customer requests.
  • Conducting initial investigations, checking manual FTP or SFTP, reviewing logs for file piles, and engaging the network team if required, as well as coordinating with customers.
  • Resolving customer queries through incidents and service requests on a priority/severity basis.
  • Handling escalated calls and emails, providing 1st and 2nd level technical support to end-users and internal support teams.
  • Generating and sharing Agent Client Reports (ACR) on a weekly basis.
  • Resetting passwords and RSA keys for both incoming and outgoing flows for security reasons.

Project-2: ACCWEB/DATANET
ACCWEB (Accessibility Web): A web-based online reporting tool that enables users/customers to connect to ACCESS and view reports using a web browser. Reports can be viewed online and downloaded in various formats (RTF/Excel/HTML). Daily reports are retained for six months and settlement reports for two years.
DataNet: Responsible for ensuring GSM operators comply with the GSM Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE) mandate to enhance fraud protection capabilities. Managed the near real-time exchange of call records, allowing operators to track roaming activity in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Used ACCWEB to connect to ACCESS and view, download, and generate reports in various formats.
  • Monitored and resolved issues related to customer feeds, micro cycles, job halts, and disk space using L2 actions and internal teams.
  • Collaborated with internal teams (DBA/SA/NW/OPS) to address delays in micro cycle completion of reports as per SLA.
  • Engaged the Incident Response Team (IRT) and management if reports were not available within the specified time (SLA).
  • Ensured GSM operators’ compliance with the NRTRDE mandate to enhance fraud protection capabilities.
  • Exchanged call records in near real-time and tracked roaming activity across three regions (EU, NA, & India-IDC).
