STRESS ANALYSIS AND FATIGUE LIFE PREDICTION FOR STIFFENED PANEL OF THE TRANSPORT AIRCRAFT WING BOTTOM SKIN, FEM and Fatigue, MSC.Nastran/Patran, BAIL, Bengaluru, The stress analysis of the panel is done by the finite element method using software package MSC.Patran/Nastran. By this the high tensile stress location which leads to the crack to initiate is identified. Fatigue life prediction for crack to initiate is done by using S-N curve based Miner's rule. OPTIMIZATION OF RAW MATERIAL MIX FOR METAL CASTING USING LINEAR PROGRAMMING, Operational Research, GIPALS, Sri Shiva Sai Cast Pvt.Ltd, Shivamogga, The Optimization of raw material mix for metal casting is done and this is achieved by the Linear Programming method. This project helps the casting industry to obtain an optimum quantity of raw material for metal casting and hence avoid the excess material being used for a particular grade. This in turn helps the industry to avoid excess use of costly raw materials and helps in saving money.
