As a Product Manager & Functional Lead, I manage a key strategic project within Allianz group to replace the existing Insurance platform with a new web-based GUI facilitating efficiency and high user productivity. Below are my key roles in the new assignment:

  • Planning and Estimation: Responsible for planning and estimating the project ( having a team size of 21 people) that needs to be done within the desired timeframe. This involves working with the team (Business Sponsor, Onshore Product Managers, BAs, Technical and Functional teams) to break down the work into smaller, more manageable pieces, and estimating how long each piece will take to complete.
  • Stakeholder Management: Managing stakeholder expectations and ensuring that the team is delivering as per the plan and adding value to the business expectations. This involves communicating with stakeholders regularly in steering committee meetings and providing them with updates on the team's progress and taking back the business feedback to realign our plans accordingly.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration: The current product involves co-ordination between multiple technical and functional squads who operate on the same business logic which is shared between multiple applications. As a Project Manager of the current assignment, I work with other teams to make sure the goals and plans are aligned to reach the common goal and make sure we mitigate any risks on the way
  • Risk Management: Identifying and managing risks that could impact the success of the project. This involves working with the team to identify potential risks, and putting in place strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Agile Process Facilitation: Facilitating the Agile development process by working with the team to ensure that they are following Agile principles and practices, and helping the team to continuously improve their processes. As a scrum master I drive the Agile rituals of the team to make sure that we continue to mature our Agile processes on the go.
  • KPI identification and Reporting: Identifying the key metrics to provide visibility to the current progress, efficiency and status and making sure that the team continues to improve the KPIs with each sprint.

As a technical BA, I work on the enhancing the features related to Motor & Household lines of business. As a part of the transitioning to microservices architecture, we developed a middleware platform to integrate Allianz APIs (Web services) with third party applications.
