Responsibilities:

1. Working as Sr. PostgreSQL DBA and handling various duty of postgres DBA part of remote service group providing support to consulting clients for various projects for ongoing issue in Development, Testing and PROD environment including Database upgrade, Application patches and DR activities

2. Configuring and fixing the Issues with Pgadmin-IV client application.

3. Responsible for monitoring environments.

4. Installing and configuring new servers as per customer's request.

5. Cloning the Development, test and UAT environments with production data as per customer’s request. O Design and implement disaster recovery for the PostgreSQL Database.

6. Configuring third client software pgadmin-IV ,DBeaver to access the database server. O Configuring the backup jobs on customer system. Experienced in performing PITR.

7. Patch, Upgrade and keep the PostgreSQL DBs current. Develop and enhance scripts to automate and execute various DBA tasks.

8. Assist engineering team in the design of appropriate DB Schema and indexing strategy for and scalability.

9. Experience supporting with 24x7 On-Call Support including weekends.

10. Identifying and resolving incidents and address to user prob ems/concerns. Troubleshooting database issues.

11. Support developers for efficient SQL query and Identifying long running queries and optimizing. Setup/Maintenance of Test/Development/UAT Servers setup.

12. Coordinating of Service Request (SR) with business team and providing them SQL queries.

13. Monitoring of system logs, OS logs, database logs, trace files, database alert files to detect and troubleshoot runtime problems.

14. Planning, deploying RDBMS Upgrades/Patches and performing other weekend maintenance activities as a part of On Call support.

15. Active participant in discussions related to Backup Strategy, DC/DR architecture. Maintained, patched, and upgraded servers as required.

16. Expertise in Analyzing data Quality checks using shell scripts. Upgrading, installing, and configuring PostgreSQL servers.

17. PostgreSQL Installation, Configuration, Migration, Upgrades and Patches. Server versions ranged from PostgreSQL 9.x to 13.x

18. Disaster recovery planning or Emergency Recoveries and Ensuring Recoverability of Databases.

19. Optimize postgresqI.conf for performance improvement. Review all PostgreSQL logs for problems.

20. Ensure night corn jobs for backups, re-Indexing & vacuuming & materialized views executed properly on 24/7 high availability Postgres. production and development databases.

Responsibilities (As System Engineer):

For Windows/Linux Administration and Oracle Database Administrator:

· Installation and Configuration of Server including Windows, Linux.

· AD Creation.

· Managing AD users and restriction through GPO.

· Managing and support all Production, Development databases in Oracle 10g and 11g.

· Installation and Upgrade of Oracle 10g and 11g on various platforms like Linux, windows.

· Installation and manage Grid and ASM instants on Linux server.

· Cloning of Application and database to test and development instances (Cold/Hot/RMAN).

· Index rebuilding to speed up performance of database.

· Trouble shooting performance related issues wait/block/ of sessions.

· Monitoring Users/Concurrent Jobs and managers.

· Application user creation / responsibilities assignment.

· Monitoring different logs and fixing the errors if any.

· Analyzing database reports AWR.

· Managing mount point on OS with maintaining Logical/Physical space of database.

· Monitor and diagnose database performance through monitoring of alert files, trace files and logs files of different services.

· Creating and maintaining users, granting and maintaining the privileges.

· Migration and Up-gradation of databases.

· Cloning and Patching activities.

· Performed Re-org and Index rebuilding in least downtime.

· Installation and configuration of Backup Exec as per requirement.

· Troubleshooting per day Backup Exec issues.

· Restoration of Backup data on monthly basis.

For Postgres SQL Database Administrator: -

· Installation of PostgreSQL Database on Windows or Linux Server.

· Configuration of PostgreSQL database as per Application requirement.

· Backup Configuration.

· Restoration of PostgreSQL data backup as per development team or client requirement.

· Installation and Configuration of PostgreSQL Hot Standby Server.

· Configuration of PostgreSQL Hot Standby Server.

· Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration.

· Responsible For Point-In-Time –Recovery (PITR).

· Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.

· Clusters and upgrading/migrating various PostgreSQL database version.

· Database administration and tuning databases.

· Develop database automation scripts and maintenance.

· Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, planning of new production systems/databases.

· Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards.
