• Coordinating tasks and managing team members to help them learn and contribute towards the project.
• Implemented COW-QKD (Coherent one-way Quantum key distribution) and DPS-QKD (Differential Phase shifting Quantum key distribution systems) in chassis boxes, serving as a prototype for future designs.

• Optical design and development: Raman amplifier assisted four-wave mixing and nonlinear compensation in VPIphotonics design environment.
• Technical focus:
• Successfully designed and optimized an optical link using an OPC (optical phase conjugation) module by decreasing nonlinearities using Raman and Erbium-doped fiber amplification schemes.
• Raman amplification schemes implemented showed a better performance than EDFAs

• Successfully performed optical and electrical characterization of Fano structures and extracted the quality factor of a nanocavity
• The project laid the foundations for the development of an optical switch.

• Characterized one of the latest transceivers in the market that met NG-PON2 standards.
• Successfully performed a technical comparative analysis between the ultra-high sensitivity BIFROST and the standard receiver using VPIphotonics software.

• Worked on etching different types of polymer fibers including Photonic crystal polymer fibers and fiber connectorization
• Helped cataloging different lost fibers which was essential for further characterization and testing.
