As a Subject Matter Expert, I helped associates resolve the problems they encountered while reconciling seller inventory, calculating the amount to be reimbursed for seller losses in cases such as inventory damaged at warehouse, inventory missing at inbound stations, un-returned inventory in addition to driving process improvements.

  • Automated virtual investigation process for retrieving sellers inventory missing in inbound stations at warehouses, reducing investigation time per claim from 42 minutes to 26 minutes, increasing productivity rate by 38%.
  • Reduced the calculation time to determine the amount to be paid out to seller flex sellers (Seller owned warehouses) by 50%, saving 11 minutes of total investigation time per claim. This led to reduction in headcount allocation for this particular task, resulting in savings of 8.4 Lakh INR YOY on headcount cost.
  • Brought down ticket allocation time to associates from 20 minutes to 5 minutes by suggesting and implementing an automation technique that automatically assigns incoming reimbursement claim tickets from sellers to available credit operations associates.
  • Transitioned virtual investigation process to retrieve seller's inventory missing at warehouses, from Credit operations team at Bangalore to Fin-ops team at Hyderabad, saving the site a total headcount cost of 5.04 MNN INR YOY. Awarded with “Star Performer" award in recognition.
  • Groomed 2 associates to take up mentorship positions within the team.

This role required me to perform virtual investigation to retrieve seller's missing inventory at warehouses, using various internal tools and interfaces such as seller central, in addition to performing calculations to determine the amount to be paid out to the seller for the losses incurred by the seller for damaged and lost inventory at warehouses.

  • Streamlined the virtual investigation process for retrieving inventory missing in inbound stations at Amazon warehouses. Introduced 4 additional checks in addition to the already existing checks. This resulted in reduction of reimbursable amount to paid out to the seller by up to 36% per case.
  • Identified fraudulent activity being performed by a high-profile seller in order to receive reimbursements from the company, during peak Diwali sale. Recovered an amount of 14.23 MN INR that was paid out to the seller for his fraudulent claims in addition to saving 6.6 MN INR by cancelling the reimbursement amount that was lined up to be paid out to the seller for fraudulent claims.
  • Reduced the investigation time of seller’s warehouse damaged reimbursement claims by seller, by suggesting and helping build a VBA macro that would automate the entire process. This brought down the investigation time per claim from 6 minutes to 1.5 minutes, saving 20 hours of production time/week.

  • Identified opportunities to work with financial operations team to correct a routing issue that prevented 80% of sellers from contacting the account management team for size related reimbursement assistance.
  • Entrusted with the responsibility to train and mentor a batch of 26 new hires at the newly established partner site in Chennai. Successfully transitioned all 26 new hires from the role of trainees to full time production employees through effective mentoring, process guidance and coaching.
