Key responsibility
- Assessment of component performance by the equipment reliability management system for preparing and maintaining an updated preventive maintenance schedule for instruments and control systems, clearly identifying the shutdown requirements for each.
- Identifying the requirement for maintenance checklists, written procedures, preparing them, and getting these reviewed and approved.
- Organize documents, materials, and manpower for carrying out field change notices (FCNs), modifications during shutdown, or unit operation.
- Review of various design documents, such as I/O schedules, instrument schedules, cable schedules, functional design specifications, and instrument specifications.
- Monthly review of maintenance jobs carried out during that month to identify major breakdowns, especially of a repetitive nature.
- Leading field walk-downs, job identification, investigation, and resolution of off-normal equipment conditions to ensure safe plant operations and preserve equipment design margins.
- Selecting control schemes, identifying appropriate control systems, handling inquiry specification preparation, and selecting instruments.
- Hazard/Fault Identification Studies.
- Conduct a root cause analysis on safety-related deficiencies, and generate the RCA report.
Key Result Areas:
- Successfully planned, organized, and executed reactor primary and secondary system, control, and instrumentation scopes of work in 10 BSDs and 20+ PSDs, with safety as a priority and by effective ALARA in a high external radiation background and DAC.
- Operated as a member and coordinator for the 'Severe Accident Management Guideline' and formulated procedures and required instrumentation for handling the DEC-A and DEC-B situations.
- Implemented major ECNs and FCN, such as the hydrogen management system, containment filtered ventilation system, and operating emergency support center, as part of post-Fukushima modifications.
- Commissioning of Indigenous 700 MW boiler pressure control system, boiler level control system, feed water system, and passive decay heat removal system.
Entrusted with the responsibilities of leading and guiding a team of supervisors and technicians during the calibration, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, condition-based maintenance checks of the following equipment during plant shutdown and during plant operating conditions with extreme care.
1. Pressure, level, temperature, and flow transmitters (smart and analog).
2. PID controllers, power supply units, indicators, and field limit switches.
3. Control valves, E/A's, and positioners, SV's, and control valve diaphragm replacement jobs.
4. Analytical instruments like SWAN make sodium leak detectors, H2 purity detectors, H2 leak detectors, Cl2 leak detectors, dissolved O2 detectors, pH detectors, and conductivity detectors.
