I worked with a different set of children from a range of 3 to 6 years old. I experimented with children having “different abilities which refers to individuals whose developmental, cognitive, or physical characteristics deviate from what is considered typical for their age. This helped me understand them to enhance their individual skills. Right now, I am working for an organization that is like an after-school activity center, which has allowed me to explore more on the overall holistic development of a child, rather than just literacy, numeracy, and rhymes. The powerful lesson I've learned is working on a "child-based curriculum," which involves holistically developing social behavioral attention, managing their emotions, and resolving conflicts through communication skills, empathy, and problem-solving techniques without affecting the actual learning curriculum. The items mentioned above are essential keys for preschoolers to focus on rather than teaching more about ABCs, shapes, colors, rhymes, etc.
