• Administer and support firewall infrastructure, handling BAU operations including firewall rule implementation, access control changes, and security policy modifications based on business requirements.
• Implement and manage firewall policies for ensuring changes comply with approved security and change-management processes.
• Monitor emerging security vulnerabilities, CVEs, and vendor security advisories, assess their impact on the firewall environment, and take appropriate action suggested by the vendor.
• Troubleshoot complex firewall connectivity and security incidents by analyzing traffic flows, firewall logs, policy matches, NAT behavior, routing, and network connectivity during customer troubleshooting calls.
• Participate in P1/critical incidents, providing firewall-level troubleshooting, impact analysis, resolving the issue and post-incident support to restore services within defined SLAs.
• Execute firewall upgrades and maintenance activities, including pre-checks, post-checks, configuration validation, and rollback preparedness.
• Execute firewall maintenance and health-check activities, including SIC reset/re-establishment, configuration backup and restoration, and preventive health validation, ensuring firewall stability, secure management connectivity, configuration recoverability, and operational availability.
• Execute large-scale firewall configuration changes using scripts, reducing manual intervention and improving consistency and efficiency during bulk change implementations.
• Automated recurring operational activities including firewall configuration backups and automated generation of firewall health-check reports, reducing manual effort and improving operational reliability.
• Conduct quarterly firewall rule-base tuning and optimization, identifying unused, or ineffective rules and coordinating remediation as part of firewall hardening.
• Perform quarterly firewall audits and address identified audit observations, including rule-base review, access control validation, configuration compliance, and security-policy cleanup.
• Analyze firewall logs and traffic patterns to support security investigations, connectivity troubleshooting, and policy validation.
• Participate in daily and weekly customer stand-up calls, providing updates on ongoing changes, incidents, troubleshooting activities, vulnerabilities, and operational tasks.
• Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), implementation procedures, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation for recurring firewall activities.
• Perform post-change validation to verify application connectivity, traffic flow, security-policy behavior, and service availability following firewall modifications.
• Collaborate with customer and internal network/security teams for L2/L3 troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, change implementation, and resolution of firewall-related issues.
• Collaborate with TAC support Team as per the requirement.
• Maintain operational readiness by performing regular configuration reviews, backup validation, health checks, and preventive maintenance activities across the firewall environment.
