At Publix, the “Challenge Coin” is a coin given out to an associate that goes above and beyond the expectations given to an associate. REward was given due to creation of a “safety scavenger hunt” which all departments went throughout the store to fill out their “safety cards”. On the safety cards each department had to document via a photo of other associates following safety procedures such as wearing cutting gloves when cleaning a slicer, properly monitoring spills on the sales floor, wearing proper PPE when dealing with chemicals, etc. Every department competed to finish the card first, and the winner was given a food party of their choice. Safety is very important to me, so I was honored to receive this award.
