Dr Manish Kumar

I have been working with Indian army since March 2000, first as a medical officer and subsequently as a physician and Oncophysician till March 2022 when I took voluntary retirement from the Army to work for the society and contribute towards development of Medicine & Medical Oncology. Working in my present scenario gives me a wider reach to more and more people and very soon I wish to take medicine, medical oncology and preventive oncology to smaller cities which are in ever growing need for better health care. I have worked in the best of the centers of Indian army but now I'm looking forward to work at the community level and give my best to the people who deserve it the most. I'm a complete Team man and think of collaboration as the only way forward.

• RCT presented at ASCO 2022 (CONCERT trial- Phase III trial of Cisplatin 40 mg/m2 Vs 100 Mg/m2 along with radiation in locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of head & neck)
• AFMRC research project in year 2017-2019 for 'ALK gene re-arrangement testing by FISH in Adenocarcinoma Lung cases visiting the Largest hospital of Indian defence forces' (Best research paper award)
• Co-worker in AFMRC projects: Analysis of genomic landscape of Carcinoma GB cases visiting the largest tertiary care center of Indian Armed forces & Efficacy of soft gel vitamin E capsules in prevention of radiation induced fibrosis in locally advanced H&N carcinoma cases
• Guide & co-guide in multiple thesis work being done by DNB Medical oncology and Urology residents at our institute, AHRR, New Delhi

I have been research oriented, got the best paper award for my AFMRC project in 2021-22

While working as head of Oncology, I have developed a model for oncology care delivery in tier 3/4 cities with the optimum utilization of telemedicine and it turned out to be a highly successful pilot project.
