Demand prediction for a ride-hailing company (Uber) using a machine learning algorithm
Passengers, at times, find it difficult to get a cab in new or developing areas, and Uber drivers, at times, go home without having a single passenger. The application predicts the demand for cabs at a particular time in a particular area. The project's goal was to see if a more efficient approach for assessing demand across different geographic regions could be developed. To that purpose, a large dataset was methodically collected, followed by stringent data cleaning procedures. Patterns within pickup and drop-off sites were identified using clustering algorithms The Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) was calculated as a performance statistic using a suite of machine learning algorithms, including the Random Forest Regressor, XGBoost Regressor, Linear Regression, baseline models, and the Exponential Weighted Ratio technique. The forecast can help the companies optimize their resources (i.e., vehicles), enhance availability at the right place at the right time, help drivers maximize revenue, and lead to much-satisfied customers

The objective of the project was to predict if a person is suffering from COVID-19 based on the existing symptoms, using the Support Vector Machine algorithm. The training data used was collected for the city of New Delhi, and it consisted of the symptoms exhibited by the patients
