For our collage project, we explored the generation of compressed air using a rack and pinion gear system. By
leveraging mechanical components, we compressed air. Through the rotational motion of the gear mechanism,
pressurized air was produced. This method offers an efficient means for generating compressed air, applicable in
various industrial uses like pneumatic tools and machinery.
During my internship at Fly Dining Bangalore, I served as a Safety Officer and conducted a comprehensive project
focused on enhancing safety measures for lifting personnel. I proposed several life safety solutions and developed
plans to improve safety audits, ensuring better protection for both machinery and human life.
Installed logo projectors in high-risk areas such as PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) zones and docking areas to
enhance visibility and safety. This innovative solution replaced easily damaged floor signage, providing better illumination and improving overall safety. Additionally, this frugal approach resulted in annual savings of approximately 4.5 lakh.
Implemented solar studs in warehouse yards to enhance visibility during dense fog and nighttime operations. These high-intensity red light blinkers served as guideways, significantly improving visibility for drivers and yard users. This initiative helped reduce reaction times and improved overall yard safety management.
Developed and implemented the CWS (Caught Working Safely) program, a people engagement initiative that rewards and recognizes employees consistently observed by area managers adhering to safety protocols. This program enhanced employee involvement, fostered a positive safety culture on the floor, and received commendation from senior leadership.
Workplace
Addressed the significant risk of electrical fires in the warehousing industry by implementing automatic fire suppression systems for panels in high-risk areas, such as outdoor locations and near solid fire fuels. These systems minimized fire suppression reaction times and were integrated with the main fire panel to ensure prompt and
efficient building evacuations, reducing human error. This reliable approach also required minimal maintenance and frequent changes.
Implemented limit switches to bolster safety within air handling units, recognized as confined spaces with inherent risks of pinch points from moving parts. This proactive measure aimed to mitigate the potential for human error, particularly in the correct application of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, thereby enhancing overall safety.
