Project Participation

• Stochastic Analysis of Fiber Reinforced Composites from Micro-Mechanical Perspectives : The goal of the present work is to develop numerical micro-models, using the commercial finite element package ABAQUS/Standard, to evaluate the failure, damage onset and its shear modulus in unidirectional composite materials from the properties of the fiber and matrix with a quad and tri packing array to check the reliability of FE models by comparing numerical results with empirical theories.
• Static Load Measurement Using Multi Walled Carbon Nanotubes(MWCNTs)(DRDO, Project ): To study the electrical resistance upon static load applications When any external load is applied on the carbon nanotubes, then the electrical resistance tends to vary through the nanotubes. This change in electrical resistance upon load application is dependent upon the alignment of the nanotubes.
• Mechanical Characterization of Varying Deposits of MWCNTs on Glass Surfaces under High Strain Rate (DRDO, Project ): To study the stress- strain of coated specimen with variable deposits of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) and characterized for dynamic mechanical strength using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar(SHPB) under high strain rate loading of 2500/s.
• Enhancement of Mechanical properties in Composites (DRDO, New Delhi, India ): To show that minor composition of MWCNTs in PMMA base matrix can enhance the mechanical properties of PMMA based composites due to better load transfer ability and high aspect ratio of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.
