Project Title: Operations Bridge Manager (OMi)

Project Overview: Management packs provide add-on content on top of OBM. They deliver automatic and end-to-end monitoring solutions for infrastructure and applications. Management packs enable users to monitor, detect, troubleshoot, and remediate issues in the IT domain. They increase the productivity of the user by optimizing and automating various tasks and reducing the mean time to resolve (MTTR) incidents.

Management packs discover application domains and proactively monitor the domains for availability and performance issues. They include, for example, management templates, aspects, policy templates, performance graphs, troubleshooting tools, auto remediation flows, and topology-based event correlation (TBEC) rules.

The following figure shows an overview of the content that can be included in a set of management packs.

Project Title: Supplemental Data Manager CRM Tools

Project Overview:

Develop supplemental data manager is the newest addition to the Financial Close Manager suite and is designed to be a data collection tool and repository for all the tangential financial and non-financial data that supports the main reporting of accounts. Supplemental data manager is a generic, configurable, integrated data collection system maintained by Finance. It can be configured to collect financial and non-financial data. Facilitates data validation and calculation to ensure data integrity and correct aggregation of data. Users can enable a flexible approval process that can be different for different data sets. Users can post to HFM from within supplemental data manager at base or aggregated levels, and then from HFM drill back to the supplemental data manager schedules. Input and reporting from within Smart View (excel extension). There is workflow status and data reporting as a dashboard within supplemental data manager also included is flexible transnational reporting. Create the forms based on the data sets that are to be collected. These data sets can be associated with imported dimensions from HFM, or completely independent.

Project Overview: Virgin Mobile USA

  • Description: Virgin Mobile USA (VMU) is a “50/50” joint venture between SPRINT and the Virgin Group. In the telecom industry VMU is what is called a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) because it has no network. Its re-brands and resells SPRINT mobile network access and communication services. On top of the SPRINT network and services, VMU delivers additional communication services. These services are aggregated from third parties as well as developed and hosted internally within VMU's facilities VMU customers typically procure mobile handsets from retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Wal-Mart. Customer can also order handsets from VMU's web site. These handsets are branded Virgin Mobile but are engineered to connect to the SPRINT network. Initially the handsets are inoperable and must be ‘activated' through VMU's web site. The web site implements a wizard style activation workflow through which the customer enters identity information found on the handset. At this point, there is no requirement that the customer give payment information (such as credit card number or Pay Pal account number).
