Advanced student progression by developing tailored lesson plans and employing strategic teaching methods to teach courses for the Department of Biotechnology and Microbiology for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Facilitated student success by mentoring UG, PG and Ph.D. students in their research projects. Successfully set up life science laboratories by effectively working with various vendors to select and procure instruments, chemicals, and reagents.

Research description:

Collaborated on various vaccine development projects. Advanced scientific developments by publishing research findings in international peer-reviewed journals and delivering presentations at several international conferences. Fostered student success by delivering basic microbiology training to students. Coordinated all group meetings. Reviewed numerous academic journals such as Veterinary Research.

Key Accomplishments:

· Delivered research finding presentation in multiple international conferences including Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases, Western Poultry Disease Conference, and American Association for Avian Pathologists meeting.

· Research findings were published in Vaccine, Avian Diseases, Clinical and Vaccine Immunology, Fish and Shellfish Immunology and PLOS One

Research area:

Conducted work on a model two-component regulatory system by dissecting a genetic circuit in pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli and analyzed its role in virulence. Published research findings in peer-reviewed research journals. Presented findings in several international conferences such as American Society for Microbiology General Meeting, Bacterial Locomotion and Signal Transduction conference. Employed teaching abilities to assist in delivering course titled “Genomics and Proteomics of Infectious Diseases”.

Key Accomplishments:

· Received Research Assistantship to pursue doctorate at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA.

· Nominated as member in the American Association for Advancement of Science, 2005.

· Awarded a Travel Grant to present a poster at the Mid Atlantic Microbial Pathogenesis Meeting, Virginia, USA in 2007.

· Served as internal review committee member for graduate students.

· Acted as the secretary for the Animal Sciences Graduate Students Association (ASGSA) in 2005.
