Anirudh Kamath

Engineer with documented experience in developing software to control, monitor, and test computer networks using open source software to better manage network operations.
As a network automation engineer I have observed the challenges in applying innovative solutions in-network where operators feel a lack of control on the outcome of proposed changes. My motivation is to explore and contribute to the following:

• How can we prototype networks to test network performance and policies similar to how containers prototype computational workloads?
• What data and models can be used for testing and prototyping networks? Can this data be classified and generated using machine learning?
• Programmable data planes have a lot of potential- can operators be incentivized to shift towards writing software programs that operate in-network and allow for multi functional actions?
• How can application defined policies be seamlessly integrated into any network upon intent definition?

My vision is to work towards open networking and systems management that would make large scale systems flexible, verifiable, reproducible, and economical- and could allow for the proliferation of networks as a service.
