Worked in various capacities to enforce provisions of Indian Forest Act, Forest

(Conservation) Act, Wildlife (Protection) Act, The Scheduled Tribes and other Traditional Forest Dwellers( Recognition of Forest Rights) Act 2006, and Rules framed thereunder in addition to other duties assigned from time to time.

• Formulation of Rules and operationalization of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006, 2007, New Delhi, Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers in Forestry Sector, Identification and Recognition of individual and community forest rights of Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers and vesting of such rights in them.
• Evaluation of State Projects for the development of area and welfare of Scheduled Tribes and providing financial support (grant) under proviso to Article 275 of the Constitution of India and Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Plan, 2007, New Delhi, Scheduled Tribes, Projects were meant to bring development of tribal area at par with that of rest of area of the State and to ensure welfare of Scheduled Tribes.
• Restoration of abandoned mines in Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills of Meghalaya, 2016, Shillong, Meghalaya, Mining and Forestry Sector, Abandoned mines and its status of ecology and environment were identified for formulation of a plan to restore them.
• Creation and Maintenance of Balpakram National Park, 1998, South Garo Hills, Meghalaya, All stake holders, Private land having rich flora and fauna and owned by Communities was acquired, concerted efforts were made in resolving conflicts between local traditional system and legal system that led the area to be constituted as Balpakram National Park, Divisional Forest Officer, Balpakram National Park, Survey of area, preparation of records, meetings with Nokmas (Headmen), preparation of Draft Management Plan
• Preparation of Master Plan on Bio-diversity of Garo Conservation Area under Indo-US Project, 1999, Garo Hills, Meghalaya, Govt of Meghalaya and stake holders, A comprehensive plan having details of flora and fauna, issues of stakeholders living in and around project area was prepared for helping preparation of Management Plan National Park and eco development of surrounding areas, Divisional Forest Officer, Household surveys, survey of micro and macro flora and fauna under the support and guidelines of Wildlife Institute of India, US Forest and Fishery Services were conducted.
• Formulation of Minor Mineral Concession Rules for Meghalaya, 2017, Mining areas, Meghalaya, All stakeholders- Mine owners, Govt of Meghalaya, people having stakes, In absence of said Rules Minor Minerals were being extracted unscientifically presenting challenges to the protection of the environment and conservation of the forest. Rules needed to regulate such activities by interalia making provisions to ensure adherence to provisions of Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and Forest (Conservation) Act 1980. The assignment involved interaction with all stakeholders, literature review, formulation of draft and approval of competent authority., Additional Principal Chief conservator of Forests (Social Forestry and Environment), Govt of Meghalaya.
