Talking about myself has always felt like making a case for something — a performance of worth, a quiet plea to be seen a certain way. There’s probably better use of paper than trying to make that sale. If you want to know me, watch me work. Watch me listen, stumble, return, stay. That’s the part I can stand behind. And maybe that’s why I’ve always turned to art — because it lets me be present without needing to prove. It softens the lines between my inner world and the roles I carry. That same quiet process — exploratory, unhurried, alive — mirrors the space I try to offer in my work. Whether I’m with a child in play, a parent in distress, or a trainee learning to trust their voice, I return to that space again and again: open, steady, and real. Art has always been the backdoor into my own mind. When I draw, write, or lose myself in music, I don’t just unwind — I understand. It’s not performance, it’s process — quiet, curious, and deeply felt. That’s what I try to bring into my clinical work: an invitation to explore without urgency, to express without needing to explain. The kind of slow, trusting presence that allows something meaningful to emerge — especially when working with children, where play becomes both language and bridge. Whether I’m in a counseling session, reviewing a case, or mentoring a student, this reflective stance carries through. So while writing this “about me” may feel awkward, it’s also a quiet celebration of all the invisible threads that bind my inner world to the work I do.
The COVID-19 lockdown deeply disrupted the lives of families with children with special needs, limiting access to critical support systems. In response, I began offering pro bono counseling services after completing my Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counseling from NIPCCD. I supported children with neurodevelopmental concerns through online play-based therapy and provided parental guidance using PCIT-informed approaches. With some families being referred through NIPCCD clinics itself, I remained consistently connected to my alma mater too. I continue to offer such support on a need-based basis alongside my professional practice.
