I've done my MBBS, MD general medicine and DNB general medicine from one of the top medical college of India and is currently working as a specialist in the department of general medicine with training in Basic life support and advanced cardiac life support and more than 6 years of clinical experience in general medicine including 3 years of teaching undergraduate students during my senior residency. I've cleared my MRCP part 1, MRCP part 2 and necessary OET score to work in UK. I'm eligible for sponsorship pathway to practice in UK.
I've always been a dedicated doctor with a background in delivering quality care and bringing forth an empathetic and professional attitude, committed to providing patients with the best care possible. With special interest in acute medicine care, I've treated thousands of general medicine patients and aim at providing best treatment courses as per latest protocols. I've also acquired skills in venous and arterial blood sampling, lumbar puncture, pleural and peritoneal tap, iv cannulations, bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, renal and liver biopsy and central venous access.
I always believe that few medical branches needs extra focus and care, and one of them is acute medicine for me. Early recognition and proper management is the key and improper management will either result in no improvement or serious life threatening complications which can be either due to continuous disease or from the adverse effects of the medications used. Hence no matter how much a doctor indulge himself/herself in the management of these patients, without proper and experienced supervision, one cannot treat the patients with confidence even after years of clinical experience. This will require proper knowledge about the common drugs used along with their proper indications, a commitment towards patient care and also the experience of working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, where everyone contributes their expertise, communicates effectively, and prioritizes patient care to achieve the best possible outcomes, fostering a supportive and positive environment for quality treatment. It also requires recognition of the challenges in daily medical practice, such as resource limitations, the growing demand due to an aging population with the need for early recognition of risk factors, and the need for integrated care models. In my previous role, I was part of a team that fostered open communication and actively sought input from all members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
I always inculcate the values of care, appreciation and inspiration, both in my general life and in my medical practice. I value my patient’s time, energy, and humanity, and never forget to make interpersonal gestures like the handwritten “thank you” note to combat the negative emotions. I understand the importance of a simple line, “Thanks for choosing our practice” goes a long way and never forget to express my gratitude for the same.
I also believe in inspiring my juniors and my colleagues and usually organizes tiny in-office celebrations for personal achievements including the first successful pleural or peritoneal tap by any of my juniors. I'm proud to have contributed to a positive team environment where we supported each other and celebrated successes together.
I approach change with a positive and open mindset, always seeking new ways to do things better. In my last job as a senior resident in department of general medicine with 6 different units of the department working independently, I suggested shuffling of resident doctors in different units every 6 months so that that the resident doctors would be able to gain extra knowledge while working under different leaders and the communication gaps between different units decreases. This not only streamlined the working of department, but also helped the resident doctors to gain extra knowledge and skills along with building of good inter-personal relationships.
I regularly review the latest evidence from clinical trials to guide practice in managing my patients and diagnosing and managing risk factors at an early stage to reduce the future complications. Through my formal education and experience, I have gained a solid understanding of different research designs and their strengths and limitations, particularly in acute medicine where randomized controlled trials might not always be feasible and hence, I understand the role of cohort studies in examining outcomes of the patients with multiple chronic conditions.
I've had the privilege of working with a highly skilled and collaborative medical team, where we consistently put patient care first. I have always prioritized the patient's needs and involving them in decision-making processes. I've always treated others as I would expect myself or my family to be treated and cared for.
I believe that early recognition and proper management of most of the medicine patients can help them to lead a healthy life without any complications. Unlike other departments I believe acute medicine management is "we see what we treat" and during follow ups and acute management, this is what inspires me to become a specialist as I can clearly look at the action of the drugs treating my patients in front of my eyes within a short interval of time.
I recognize that healthcare is constantly evolving. Not only I seek further development in keeping up-to-date with the latest advancements in the medical field, but I'm also interested in gaining further experience and confidence in acute medicine by getting this excellent opportunity to strengthen my clinical skills and to work closely with consultant physicians from various sub-specialties. This will also help me in developing a deeper understanding of the psychosocial aspects of the patients, including strategies for supporting patients with behavioral and mental health challenges, such as distress due to long term illnesses and adherence difficulties. Hence, It'll be an honor for me to work with your prestigious hospital as it'll be an opportunity for me to go further in depth of medicine and will help me achieve the career I aspire to and gain some more experience, both as a team member and as a team leader.

I have 3 years of teaching experience while working as senior resident doctor at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital. My audience were the undergraduate students pursuing primary medical qualification (MBBS) and the main focus was on the history taking and examination skills along with the different pathologies of various systems including endocrinology, geriatric, cardiology, gastroenterology, respiratory, nephrology, neurology, infectious diseases, immunology and hematology, while also focusing on the recent advances in general medicine. I always ensure the sessions are engaging and interactive using group discussions, case studies, role-playing and quizzes to enhance the understanding of the topic and using power point presentations and video lectures. I actively seek out feedback and look for opportunities to learn and grow. I always implement methods to assess the effectiveness of my teaching by collecting feedback from participants through surveys, evaluations and reflective discussion and if sometimes I get a feedback that a session was too theoretical, I adjust my future sessions by incorporating more practical real life examples and case-based learning.
I have more than 6 years of experience of working in the department of General Medicine including my Post PG training, senior residency and as a specialist. During this time, I’ve treated thousands of acute medicine patients and have always engaged myself with other professionals to impart knowledge and discuss best treatment courses as per latest protocols.
As a specialist in general medicine department, I’m currently serving as Clinical Lead for my department, where I am responsible for overseeing a team of senior residents, junior doctors, nursing staff, and allied health professionals. I manage service delivery, ensure compliance with clinical governance, and implement improvements in patient care. I also play a key role in reorganizing care pathways to improve efficiency and patient outcomes.
One key achievement as a senior resident in my previous job, was my leadership in a project that integrated acute care and community services for frail elderly patients. We recognized that frail older adults often face unique challenges, including complex comorbidities, reduced mobility, and social isolation, which necessitate a holistic approach to their care. Me and my team collaborated with community teams during hospital stays to plan for a safe and supported transition back home. We also planned utilizing community nursing and rehabilitation teams to manage chronic conditions and provide post-acute care, preventing avoidable hospitalizations. Our main focus was on providing education to caregivers and patients about managing chronic conditions, recognizing early signs of deterioration, and accessing resources. This reduced the hospital admissions by15% within 1 year, which we consider as one of the greatest success of our team.
