Accomplished Public Health Professional and Visionary leader with over 20 years of experience in program management and implementation, collaborating with diverse stakeholders. I have a strong track record in strategic planning, program design, management, financial planning, monitoring and community health initiatives, CSR Consulting, stakeholder engagement, especially with the government and also social media engagement. Spearheaded large scale development projects focusing on vulnerable populations, including marginalized communities, children, and the elderly. My work spans key health areas such as TB, HIV/AIDS, adolescent health, comprehensive primary health care and as decentralized renewable energy solutions for the public health facilities Eye Care Facilities, which are serving for hard to reach population. These projects were funded by the donors like BMGF, USAID, World Bank, CSR as well as the Government of India. I have held leadership roles in various national and international NGOs, supervising large-scale public health interventions and managing multidisciplinary teams across multiple states, including Karnataka, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Manipur, Delhi and Jharkhand. Currently, I am heading TB projects at India Health Action Trust in Lucknow, overseeing the State TB Technical Support Unit funded by Central TB Division, MoHFW and BMGF-funded Diagnostic Network Optimization initiative. My role involves providing strategic input, program monitoring, and enhancing public-private engagement for TB elimination, while also improving access to WHO-recommended molecular diagnostics for TB patients. Key mandate is to provide technical support to National TB Elimination Program in the state of Uttar Pradesh through Health System in strengthening.

Team Leader State Technical Support Unit National TB Elimination Program

Currently Heading TB Projects STSU (State TB Technical Support Unit) funded by Central TB Division MoHFW and BMGF Funded Diagnostic Network Optimization project in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Strategic Leadership:

  • Working closely with State TB Officer, NHM and CEO of the organization providing strategic and technical inputs to improve the outcomes of State TB Program in align with National Strategic Elimination Plan both in Public and Private sector.
  • Identifying emerging challenges in the program and coming out solutions to address them through resource mobilization by external funding sources and also doing advocacy with State to include budgets to address these issues in their project implementation plan.
  • Overseeing overall implementation of the programs like developing operational plans, hiring of staff, budget monitoring, developing SOPs for the procurement. Total currently handling budget 3.5 Million USD

Program Management:

  • Leading the implementation of TB Projects from Front and tracking the progress of the project outputs and outcomes using data and regularly sharing reports to CEO, Governments and Donors.
  • Developing SOPs and Spreadsheets for the concurrent monitoring of program data and sharing this with State TB Department to take informed decision to bring improvement in the program.

Government and Donor Management

  • Participation in high level state officials meeting like steering committee meeting, program management committee chaired by Principal Secretary Health, MD-NHM, Director General and Medical Health and sharing progress of the program and seeking their inputs and guidance.
  • Participation the State and National Review Meetings chaired by DDG, ADG, Central TV Division MoHFW and presenting overall progress of the program.
  • Participation in State level Budget Planning and giving inputs to allocate resources to address the emerging issues for the program benefits.

People Management

  • Currently Leading and Working with Team of 20 Members. These are from multidisciplinary background, medical doctors, microbiologists, public health experts, contract management experts and Information Communication Technology expert.
  • Overseeing looking after timely recruitment of staff in co-ordination of HR and ensure capacity building of staff.
  • Empowering team members by delegating responsibilities according to individual strengths and areas of expertise
  • Collaborating with other department leaders and team members establish shared goals and responsiblities.

Grant Writing and Resource Mobilization

  • During my tenure played vital role in grant writing and securing funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1,5 Million USD) for Diagnostic Network optimization to enhance WHO recommended Molecular Diagnosis for the individuals who are having TB symptoms
  • Worked closely with State TB Department and did a advocacy with state for the strategic procurement of X Ray and Molecular Diagnostic services from the priavte sector through public private partnership. Total 2.5 Million USD budget was allocation was made in the State TB Program (Govt) Project Implementation Plan for the year 2022-2024.

Accomplishments

  • Currently Leading State Technical Support Unit Support (STSU) TB Program in the Uttar Pradesh and BMGF Funded Diagnostic Network Optimization (DNO) which is contributing close to 22% TB Burden in the state.
  • Successfully led Health Vertical Team in SELCO Foundation and Fostered Partnership with Government resulted close to one Million USD for Health and energy nexus intervention for PHC and CHC to strengthen Maternal and Child Health, NCD, COVID and Immunization Value chain.
  • Successfully led USAID Funded HIV/AIDS Orphan and Vulnerable Child Health and Social Protection project in 9 districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai.
  • Was Empaneled as Consultant to National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and conducted more than 50 HIV/AIDS targeted intervention that focused on sex workers, Men having Sex with Men (MSM) Programs in UP, Mumbai, Karnataka and Gujarat.
  • Got deputed as Technical Consultant from India Health Action Trust (IHAT) to Bhutan to design and implement Female Sex Workers Programs that was a pilot project funded by World Bank.
  • Guided more than 20 MPH students in their dissertations during my academic tenure in Manipal University. Till date 12 studies were published in National and International journals.
  • Recently Presented Three Abstracts One Oral and Two E Poster in World Lung Health Conference Organized by The Union in Bali 12th November to 16th November 2024.
