Isolation of the pectinase-producing bacteria from Halophilic samples and partial purification of the pectinase enzyme, An attempt was made to isolate pectinase-producing bacteria growing in halophilic conditions. Sand and seawater samples containing high concentrations of salts from were collected from various area and screened for pectinase activity. The strain obtained with highest pectinase activity during screening was selected. Further, obtained enzyme was partially purified using the salting-out method, dialysis followed by desalting, gel filtration chromatography and ion-exchange chromatography.
