- I’m working on an ERP project that supports global supply chain management (SCM) activities, including planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory management, and order management.
• The application we use is SAP, with SAP HANA and Oracle databases serving as the backend.
• We receive data from the SAP team, which includes finance, procurement, and inventory management details generated from the front-end application.
• This data typically comes in CSV and text file formats. Additionally, we receive data from various vendors and upstream teams. Our task is to load all this source data into staging tables.
• The application supports multiple features, such as general ledger, freight cost, inventory history, and process order management.
• In the general ledger module, we handle all business transactions, including sales, procurement, and warehouse inventory transactions.
• The freight cost feature covers all shipping-related transactions.
• The inventory history module stores detailed historical data for every product that has been manufactured or procured within the organization.
• Finally, the process order feature, also known as sales figures, assists in generating future forecast reports, including region-wise, product-wise, customer-wise, and time-based analyses (by date, month, and year).
• To facilitate this, we use ETL processes to generate data for future forecasts.
• Through data analysis, we’ve achieved significant cost savings in inventory optimization and improved supplier and sales projections for each product.
• Additionally, the application automatically generates reorder level quantities for high-demand parts and products.
• Our final layer is the reporting layer, where we use Tableau as the reporting tool.
• That’s an overview of my project.
