• Responsible for implementation of Safety, Health & Environment program at ABSTC Site:
  Following are the key responsibilities.
• Regularly controlling and monitoring of Effluent and Sewage Treatment Plant.
• Conducted HAZOP & Safety / health risk assessment, preparation of SOP, JSA for all area including the Common area, Research Lab and chemical plant.
• Arranging for safety committee meeting for discussing on the safety issues, improvement project.
• Prepared and execute plan for celebration of National safety week, world environmental day, Road safety week and fire service day.
• Responsible for the proper disposal of the Hazardous waste, E waste as per statutory requirement.
• Imparting training to all employees, Scientist including contract labors on safety topics such as MSDS, Onsite Emergency Plan, Safe Laboratory Practices, Fire training, Electrostatic Hazards.
• Develop vendor and purchase various personal protective equipment and all other EHS related items.
• Develop various work permit format and implement the same.
• Maintaining the first aid boxes and antidote kits (with medical assistance).
• Insuring serviceability of all firefighting system and equipment’s ensuring inspection check list of all firefighting equipment’s such as extinguishers, fire pump, all hydrant points, hose reel, hose pipe, etc.
• Carry out internal EHS inspection, Safety observational tour and audit as per IS14489 to reduce noncompliance
  Conducting Mock drill exercise based on Onsite Emergency Plan.
• LEGAL ACTIVITY:
  Liaising with Pollution control board, Fire department, License agency- Fire NOC form B & A and other regularities bodies as and when required
  Provide them compliance report related to their inspections / visit or any other queries raised by them
  Fulfilling the statutory requirement pertaining to the industrial safety, health and environment
  Preparation of hazardous waste return Form IV, Environmental Audit Form V , E- waste Form 3 and consent application or renovation to State Pollution Control Board
  Coordinate with Facility management and external agencies for regular testing of lifting tools & tackles and pressure vessels (Form 11 and Form 13)
  Keep management informed about various legal requirements.
• TRAINING ACTIVITY
  Identifying training needs and organize in-house health, safety and environmental training for employees
  Prepare training calendar/annual plan and execute the same.
• Develop training modules for various topics and impart same to various levels of employees which include induction training and other EHS trainings.
• AUDIT ACTIVITY
  Carry out internal safety audit as per IS 14498: 1998
  Conduct Business unit EHS cross audit at other facilities
  Assist to clients EHS representative during EHS audit and develop an action plan to close the audit findings.
• EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
  Prepared On site emergency plan
  Prepared annual schedule of mock drill and execute the same & doing compliance for findings FIRE AND SAFETY ACTIVITY.
• Keep up to date fire management system in the premises.
  Coordination with authorized agencies for the maintenance of firefighting system
  Such as Fire pumps, Fire Hydrants and sprinkler, Smoke detector system.
• Organizing wet drills as a part of firefighting training for the fire fighter members
  Investigating industrial fire incident and develop action plan.
• Develop an emergency response team for handling emergency arising in a company premises i.e., Fire fighter team, first aider team, chemical spillage team
  HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT ACTIVITY
  Coordinate for conducting annual medical check up
  Identifying, review and reducing the organization’s environmental risks.
• Educating staff in environmental issues and responsibilities.Identify different types of waste (Hazardous and Non-hazardous), E Waste and prepare proper disposal program.Coordinate with the third party to carry out environmental monitoring, noise & illumination survey etc.
• Controlling and monitoring of Effluent and Sewage Treatment Plant.
• Job Profile in the Maintenance Function:
• Preventive & breakdown maintenance of AS&T M&M lab equipment & related lab facilities as per QMS.
• Interface with AMC vendors & purchase department, vendor performance validation.
• Facilitating lab / equipment In Charges for procurement & management of new instruments, spares and accessories.
• Compilation of calibration & equipment status data & reporting in monthly MR meeting.
• Develop in-house capability for maintenance of general equipment, common facilities, and analytical instruments
  Facilitate procurement and budget compliance for AS&T, M&M, ETP.
• Compilation of equipment availability & utility index with the help of Lab-in-Charge & reporting status in monthly MR meeting.

  Application of measurement & monitoring Instrument for assisting the Team members in experiments/ measurements in their R&D projects
