This project was sponsored by Rachana InfoTech, Belgaum. The primary aim of this project was automation of news print industry. The function of the robot is to lift the bunch of papers and place it on the conveyer, which is then taken to the packaging department by the conveyer. Swing axis robot has two axes of motion, namely one vertical linear motion and second horizontal angular motion. The robot is operated pneumatically. A suction cup is used to lift the bunch of paper. VAD or vacuum generators generate the necessary suction effect in the suction cup. Also the horizontal swing cylinder and the vertical linear motion cylinder are operated pneumatically.
