  • Collaborate with business teams from FPA, Product, Project Delivery to capture the high-level requirements for Finance Connect, an enterprise-scale project that digitalizes the excel-based integrated Financial Worksheet into a digital solution. This solution will intake, manage, budget, forecast and report on the project portfolio for the Global Services Finance Team.
  • Identify system dependencies and capture integration requirements for upstream/downstream systems, including JIRA, Workday, Coupa, Axiom, PSGL and Planview.
  • Perform Fit/Gap Analysis on all systems involved and identify, capture, and define the technical requirements involved for the application data attributes.
  • Conduct requirements elicitation meetings with business stakeholders to discover and define the AS-IS process state.
  • Work with the Product Owner on designing and reviewing the TO-BE process flows using draw.io and build the application prototype using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Liaise with the Business and Appian Development Team to define the MVP and post MVP build scope of the application.
  • Break the application into modules and capture JIRA Epics/stories into the product backlog.
  • Work on the Application Architecture & Data model for Agile Architecture Review Board approval.
  • Work with Business and Accounting teams to define the complex business logic involved in calculating Cash and GAAP (based on amortization schedule) by month for Labor/Non-Labor costs involved.

  • Lead and review the QA team for the unit test/functional test cases preparation/coverage.
  • Plan and create the original test scenarios/cases involved in the successful QA completion of Cash and GAAP calculation (120 unique test cases).
  • Additionally, lead the QA team in the successful implementation of regression testing for Cash and GAAP calculation.
  • Prepare and review Export/Import packages, Compare and Deploy between environments.
  • Prepare/review DDL, DML scripts. Work with DB Operations for execution.
  • Collaborate with Business/IT stakeholders for UAT testing and production go-live readiness.
  • Also, lead/support production change requests for other Appian Finance applications, including CBAR and Finance Issue Tracker, on a regular basis.

  • Conceptualize, plan, execute, and implement the Appian Reusability Framework that defines the structure and guidance procedures for building new applications in Appian under Finance Technology.
  • Define the framework, processes involved, and set the project vision for the IT leadership and Appian Development Team (FTEs and CTEs).

About the Framework: Apart from MSF 2.0 and the standard development best practices for building Appian applications, the Appian Reusability Framework recommends that the development team follow the Reusability Process in building any new applications in Appian.

About the Reusability Process: The reusability process starts with the availability of the Reusable Components Repository (RCR) application. Once the RCR is published for the development team, all future applications have to be built by checking and adopting the existing list of reusable components from the RCR. The team can evaluate the adoption of reusable components, modify/enhance if needed, and finally update the RCR for future reference.

  • Define the different stages involved in the adoption of the framework:

Build Stage - Build RCR and deliver from a phased approach.

Adoption Stage - Build applications by reuse. Reuse components from FinApp (application-for-reuse) and/or RCR.

Reusability Stage - The continuous process of evaluation and enhancement of RCR.

  • Define the different phases involved in the build and delivery of the Reusable Components Repository, which includes Inception, Planning, and Build.

Deliver applications:

1. FinApp - One Stop Application for Finance Technology (Application-for-reuse)

  • Task Mangement - Part of it or the whole of the application is available for reuse.

  • My Task Report (Current User): Flexible for reuse for different application requirements by passing application-specific process models through constants. Overdue, high priority, and starred filters to be performed for the user. Active/completed tasks filter based on use case.
  • My Groups Task Report (Group): Allow provision to filter by specific groups, reassign, and delegate.
  • Audit Functionality: A reusable audit functionality (a subprocess) to store and retrieve key transactional/workflow events in the system for different applications.
  • Dynamic Approval Workflow: Provide interface configurations for defining and modifying a workflow process and minimize changes to the underlying process model
