Have always been passionate about working with kids. It is essentially why I chose the field of Social Work. I am good at reaching and connecting with the “hard” kids.
Cover staff who are absent. Teachers and Para’s. Help SEL para with her day to day jobs
Built relationships with students and parents. Responded to classrooms for disregulated students. Assisted students removed from classrooms to be able to return to class. Handled student conflicts. Approved referrals and assisted with writing referrels. Handled consequences for inappropriate behaviors. Contacted parents. Made necessary notations in poweschool. Covered for the principal when she was out of the building. Assisted families with obtaining needed resources. Collected and presented behavior data at weekly for MTSS behavior meetings. Completed FBA and other assessments. Assisted with IEP’s annd 504’s and the implementation of them. Assisted SEL para with student breaks.
Worked with youth in foster care with a focus on assisting youth with the transition of aging out of foster care. Built relationships with youth and their foster families. Assisted youth with learning needed skills from social skills, basic daily living skills, and independent living skills. Taught youth necessary skills in the before mentioned areas. Over saw youth in their own apartments after aging out of foster care. Completed required assessments and tracked youth progress. Maintained detailed notes as required by the state.
Also obtained Associates of Human Services from Indiana University East in May of 2006. Also did have BSW licensure however it did expire. I believe it can be renewed with some completed training hours.
