Project : CISCO ASA Firewall(Adaptive security Appliance)

ASA Firewall features that are focused on controlling access to the network, including services that block traffic and services that enable traffic flow between internal and external networks. These services include those that protect the network against threats, such as Denial of service (DoS) and other attacks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Loading image to ASA and execution of regression scripts in PYTHONPATH(PyAts frame),TCL.
  • Handling integration work related with container, building yaml according with the topology given and implement the scenario.
  • Review results and logs generated by AutoEasy Trade
  • Handled testbed and troubleshoot issue.
  • Integration of testbeds using the configuration file.
  • Integration including Cisco switches, routers, Linux hosts,TFTP servers,VM ware-V-center, ASA-firewall.
  • Configuring the network on ASA interfaces, port channels,etc.
  • Understanding of ASA multicontext,HA, cluster nodes, start traffic through the box, routing protocols, VPN etc. packet tracing, log entry and access lists.

Project 1: Virtual Flow Engine

VFE - virtualized FE software containing data path and control/management plane for NFV deployments. vFE will be designed to be modular and each plugin/module adds on to the feature list of vFE. vFE in the current aims to function as vSG/vCPE and offers functionalities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Soak & Performance cases are tested with Spirent Test Center.
  • Automated test cases using ROBOT framework along with custom API’s.
  • Responsible for Raising and following the defects.
  • Tools Used: Spirent, Wireshark, Ostinato

Project 2: TDE-2000 switch

The Flow Engine is an intelligent Software Defined Networking (SDN) solution suite, with programmable data plane. In a SDN-enabled network it reduces network complexity and CapEx costs. It is designed to operate in both data center and telecommunications environments that demand high network throughput, scalability, and guaranteed performance in a small form factor. It delivers high-performance IP packet classification and flow-based intelligent load balancing for data traffic across any third-party compute server platforms hosting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Creating flow entries (ACL) through ODL(SDN Controller) or Management interface (CONFD) with different supported match conditions and action as SLLB group.
  • Running the Soak test with duration of min 8hours with certain load and traffic types and validating that after soak test there is no memory leak and drops and traffic is load balanced in the group.
  • Testing various Packets for inspection on NPX like v4, v6 and all Ethernet packets to achieve load balancing.
  • Testing the Inbound and outbound traffic for load balancing.
  • Troubleshooting test bed issues and making changes according to the test case execution.
  • Tools Used: Spirent, Wireshark, Ostinato

Project 3: Telstra-TAP

Telstra need TAP functionality which included below features so that TAP box can collect the various packets form different devises, perform certain processing on the tapp’ed packets and dispatch the packets to the analytics devices. The purpose of processing on the tapped packets are mostly for better bandwidth utilization, to enable optimized storage of tapped packets, generic development of analytics application, and certain regulatory compliance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • · Testing the Telstra-TAP with configuring rule tables for slicing and stripping with sending different traffic flows.
  • · Testing slicing and stripping feature with capturing wireshark logs.
  • · Raising bug when seen feature failures and track the bug with updated results when tested with new binary image.
  • · Running the Soak test with duration of min 8hours with certain load and traffic types and validating that after soak test there is no memory leak and drops and traffic is load balanced in the group.
