- Higher prevalence of Vitamin D deficiency among patients with T2DM compared to the general population's individuals without diabetes.
- Lower levels of Vitamin D are associated with poorer glycemic control in patients with T2DM.
- Vitamin D deficiency in T2DM patients might be linked to an increased risk of developing complications such as Cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, nephropathy and retinopathy.
- Lower levels of Vitamin D could contribute to Insulin resistance, which is a hallmark of T2DM.
