Project : Lincoln Mainframe Migration

Client : Lincoln Financial Group ( LFG )

Description :

The Lincoln mainframe migration to AWS Cloud project at Cognizant involves migrating the existing legacy applications and data from an on-premises mainframe environment to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud Infrastructure. This migration Initiative aims to modernize the IT landscape, enhance scalability, Improve agility and reduce operational cost.

Roles and Responsibilities :

• App Remediation : coding of programs as per the requirement and make it works on AWS cloud and comparison of results both in mainframe and AWS
• Preparation of Batch test plan specification, batch test data according to the code changes and make the components to be executed in Various testing levels like DEV, SIT, UAT and PROD Parallel.
• File Migration - Understand the current mainframe environment, Including the type of files, their formats, sizes, and dependencies and make them migrated to AWS environment.
• Involved in compilation of cobol and other programs in Jenkins and conversion of files from mainframe to Microfocus
• Involved in using Microfocus tools like Classic data tools, Enterprise developer Eclipse, WINSCP, ESMAC, ZENA scheduler, Interface for applications.

Role and Responsibility:

• Working in Development Activities that involves understanding the requirement, development, Unit testing and Deployment.
• Involved in unit testing and prepared UTP (Unit Test Plan), UTR (Unit Test Result).
• Creating change request and taking care of implementation activities.
• Working in Agile Environment and involved in Handling Scrum Meetings at times, on rotation basis
• Involved in incubation activities that involves interacting with different teams and clients from time to time to gather information regarding different projects.
• Keep track of new requirements/Enhancements/change in requirements of the Project
• Knowledge sharing and mentoring new team members.
• Performed code validation and peer reviews.
• Learning from Seniors to get more understanding of API’s

Role and Responsibility:

• Determining Qulaity Improvement factors.
• Implementing methods to Inspect,test and evaluate thr reliability of processes and software products
• Automation and manual Testing of API’s using intelliJ.
• Collaborate with Software Developers and QA Analysts
• Determining quality improvement factors

Application: DHS ( Dispute Handling System )

Role and Responsibility:

• Knowledge transfer on issues/resolution to the Team Members and peer review.
• Involved in unit testing and prepared UTP (Unit Test Plan), UTR (Unit Test Result).
