KONCHOK ISHEY

Assistant Engineer (Electrical) with extensive experience addressing challenges in the energy and power sector, particularly in the high-altitude environment of Ladakh. Holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu and an M.Tech in Water Resources Development (Electrical stream) from IIT Roorkee. Gained hands-on experience as a CSIR Project Fellow under the ISTIP Project at NISTADS, New Delhi. I bring strong analytical, modelling and field-experience in sustainable water management and energy systems. With a passion for addressing climate-induced water challenges and optimizing energy-water nexus, I am driven to explore interdisciplinary solutions oriented towards sustainability, resilience, and equitable impacts in the Global South. I seek the CEEW Global South Fellowship to deepen my policy research skills, engage with real-world stakeholders, and contribute to high-impact projects in areas like sustainable water, energy transitions, and climate finance. I am curious, proactive, and eager to translate data and insights into solutions that serve both communities and policy makers.”

• Received certificate of appreciation from the administration of Union Territory of Ladakh in recognition of the exemplary work as nodal officer for evacuation of stranded people during the national lockdown for COVID-19 pandemic
