Work History

Young Professional - 1

ICAR-CMFRI KOCHI
06.2025 - Current
  • Engaged in monthly cruise-based sampling for zooplankton and ichthyoplankton collection along the Indian coast.
  • Responsible for sorting, picking, and counting about 8 zooplankton samples per month, at group level and conducting species-level identification.
  • Performed marine egg and larval counting, preservation, and taxonomic classification using morphological and molecular approaches.
  • Applied molecular techniques including DNA extraction, PCR amplification, and sequencing for molecular identification of eggs and larvae.
  • Utilized microscopy for detailed examination and morphological differentiation of planktonic specimens.
  • Assisted in analyzing spatial and temporal distribution patterns of eggs and larvae in coastal waters to understand spawning dynamics.
  • Outcome: Developed strong expertise in egg and larval taxonomy, molecular identification methods, and zooplankton analysis, leading to an enhanced understanding of early life stage distribution in Indian coastal ecosystems.
