Product Engineers have a combined role of Product Manager and Engineer in Udaan, with the product duties mainly focussing on the customer side.

I helped build a distribution system / retention program for Udaan's high-spending customers.

• Product inception, viability, and roadmap planning.
• Setup and tracking of business and customer side metrics and measurements.
• Technical Design, Architecture, and Engineering.
• 10CR revenure per month with a contribution margin of 0.6%
• ~5000 paying customers

Eventually moved on to overseeing other commerical models that generate revenue separate from the core business model.

• Part of the KYC systems group that handles KYC related functionality for various systems in the company.
• Helped clean up the existing codebase, and remove technical debt.

Joined as one of the senior guys in Zomato Banglore when it was getting formed.

• Helped make the development environment better for new engineers.
• Helped optimize the cost and efficiency of delivery systems.
• Helped improve Zomato's tech by reducing costs and making it more efficient.
• Helped design archival systems to move statistics data of 1 Billion+ records. Helped keep the pile-up to ~30 Million records at a time.

I joined as the first backend engineer, and eventually became a project owner, with most of my time here spent in warehouse process planning (SOPs, etc) or figuring out the early tech roadmap.

• Helped build a lot of the backend stack in Myra, with the co-founder CTO for a year or so, and in larger a team later.
• Helped define the initial set of conventions, code style, and architecture. Responsible for mentoring younger engineers on the team.
• Built initial versions of the systems that helped automate the core processes.
• Fleet and driver management systems.
• Inwarding and outwarding processes for Myra's inventory for bills worth Rs. 3-5 Cr per month.
• Centralized inventory management to coordinate across 7 warehouses.
• Order checkout systems for 50K orders a day.

• Helped build a chrome plugin for recruiters which enables them to add and manage candidates without leaving their present site, leading to a far more convenient and streamlined process.
• Helped build an external recruiter microsite.
  Needed separate authentication and access schemes, while being part of the same codebase as the main product.

Joined as a fresher in tech, helped move legacy systems to modern architectures.

• Helped integrate a CMS system to allow big ticket builders to have their own portal.
• Helped move our systems from a monolith in PHP MySQLi to a multi-tiered RESTful architecture in Django/Python with separation of data and presentation, moving 10L listings to this new architecture.

• Member of the ISTE Students Chapter technical board, coordinated and organised activities in Gravitas, the national level tech festival in VIT.
• Helped introduce a hockey team in my college (VIT) along with like-minded individuals which went on to play in inter-college tournaments.
