Arpan Newborn Care Center is a 27-bed NICU hospital in Ahmedabad. The hospital is well equipped with modern medical equipment, supportive facilities, and emergency services for newborns.

Job Profile:

• Implement patient care for up to three patients per section.
• Offer direct patient care on the medical-surgical floor.
• Providing hands-on care, such as feeding, bathing, and diapering infants.
• Administering medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Monitoring vital signs and adjusting medical equipment settings.
• Identifying signs of distress and alerting neonatologist.
• Educating and guiding parents on caring for their baby.
• Coordinating care plans with other NICU staff.
• Documenting the patient's condition and all interventions.
• Engaging in skin-to-skin care, or kangaroo care, to aid parent-infant bonding.
• Encouraging and teaching parents how to get involved in their baby's care.
• Celebrating milestones and giving hope during difficult periods.
• Being empathetic listeners as families share their fears and concerns.
• Connecting families with mental health resources and support groups.
• Advocating for the family's needs with other NICU staff.
• Maintain all equipment and supplies required for patient care.
• I nursed post-operative patients after major and minor surgeries.
• Give patient teaching related to care during and after discharge.

Equipment Handled and Used:

Sphygmomanometer, syringe pump, glucometer, pulse oximeter, AMBU bag, Aeroneb nebulizer, maintaining records and reports, ECG machine, defibrillator, infusion pump, suction apparatus, and laryngoscope.

Independently assist the physician for the following procedure in the NICU:

Lumber puncture, colostomy care, pleural tapping, arterial line insertion, umbilical artery catheterization, emergency resuscitation, Foley catheterization, O2 administration, wound dressing, gastric lavage, arterial blood gas analysis, blood sugar monitoring, sterile suctioning, blood transfusion, intravenous fluid administration, dead body packing, endoscopy, Ryle's tube insertion, like IV, subcutaneous, oral, 1M, nasogastric feeding, nebulization,Intracath insertion.
