Company Overview: Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP) is a cloud-enabled, API-driven integration platform that seamlessly connects Opera customers and their partners to the Oracle Hospitality core system. It provides scalable, customizable API gateways with multi-region support, multi-tenancy, and a developer portal for API design and integration.
Role: As Senior Engineering Manager for the OHIP and IDC teams, I lead the design and implementation of core platform architectures, focusing on multi-region APISIX gateways, real-time analytics solutions, and scalable billing systems. I ensure the platform is highly available, fault-tolerant, and supports secure, multi-tenant environments for customers across global regions.
I collaborate closely with product owners to define technical roadmaps and ensure alignment with business objectives. Managing multiple scrum teams, I oversee planning, status tracking, and inter-team dependencies, while mentoring team members to enhance their technical and functional capabilities.
I lead the architecture of multi-region APISIX gateways, ensuring high-performance, low-latency access across geographically distributed systems, while optimizing resource utilization. I also design and implement real-time analytics solutions to process large volumes of data and provide actionable insights. Additionally, I manage the development of a scalable billing system, integrating features like usage tracking, rate-limiting, and payment gateway support to accommodate diverse business models.
In my role, I make key architectural decisions using structured evaluation frameworks, collaborate with QA to refine testing strategies, lead bug triages, and oversee release management. I maintain a product ideas log, prioritize customer feedback, and work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline customer onboarding, and operational processes.
