Hobbies
Swimming; I have ALWAYS loved being in water, that's one of the earliest memories of pure bliss that I have. Just being immersed in water and staying underwater for as long as I could and imagine myself as a mermaid or a superhero. To this day, although now I think like an adult and worry about sun exposure n all that, I take every opportunity to jump into a pool and just exist there.
Golf; I began learning Golf in 2011/2012, along with my cousin because we both wanted to be members of the Golf Club in Mysore. My dad was a member so he pushed us in this direction and we gained momentum, although bumpy we did complete our training and tests and became members of the club. But since then I've never really been in town for long enough to play or range practise much, but I fully intend to return to it and I really enjoy the sport. Lovely folk, and relaxing ambience.
Books; I recently heard someone say that consuming something is not a hobby, only creating something is. I agree with him, but then I don't know how to categorize my reading habit so I'll still call it my hobby. I love reading, I can be more disciplined with it but it is something that takes me on a journey in my mind and it acts like something you look at and instantly you feel a sense of warmth, calmness and also excited and adventurous! That's books for me. I love reading classics, philosophy, non-fiction, fiction, ancient literature., etc it's really stupid to have a "type" in books in my opinion so I would read pretty anything if I'm intrigued by it.
Stand-up comedy; THIS is a life saver for me! Again, this is purely consumption, I have no comic talent but I am a huge fan of stand-up comedy!!! The best way to impress me or make me happy would be to take me to a stand-up show by Ricky Gervais or Dave Chapelle or Nikki Glaser or Joe Rogan or Bobby Lee or Daniel Sloss or Kevin Hart or Akash Gupta or Whitney Cummings Or Tim Dillon or I'm sure I'm missing someone I love as well. Watching comedy has been an amazing tool to deal with life in general, that's what art is supposed to be and I am a fan for life.
Music; This is another healer activity for me but my taste is quite judged though, because jazz or R&B or whatever pretentious people pretend to like is not what moves me at all! sometimes its melody of a song, but most of the times it's its ability to make me feel energized or empowered so yeah you snobs guessed it right, its hip hop or dance music or EDMs or anything that you can dance to or drive to basically. It sounds frivolous but it helps me profoundly, irony of life :D But yeah, people have tried to shame me quite a bit for my taste and the world associates nefarious traits with this kind of music but it's ABSOLUTELY false because I know degenerates who claim to listen to classical stuff :D
Podcasting; Now this one currently doesn't fit into our traditional definition of a hobby like I've mentioned earlier but it is something I am going to absolutely do very soon and I love listening to podcasts as well!! The very essence of it for me is one person picking the other person's brain and understand their perspective on things, whatever they may be. I've been doing this with my family and friends since as far back as I can remember. It has caused fights, especially with my mom, so know your audience but stay clear of your family in any case :D I love it, I absolutely love asking questions and very curious to know people's reasoning.
