Monitoring Tools Administrator - Capable of utilizing SCOM and other tools in an effective way, such that events and alerts are enhanced to carry values and focus on process improvement for better Business delivery.

• Responsible for managing and maintaining the SCOM Infrastructure
• In-depth understanding of SCOM and its components, thus using it effectively for business needs.
• Managing and maintaining the SCOM Management Group components including the Management Servers, OPs DB, DW, Reporting Servers, Consoles, Web Console, Management Packs.
• Events & Alerts analysis and forwarding to enrichment Tools for enhancements.
• Fine tuning the alerts, events and thresholds to reduce noise thus helping in process improvement
• Troubleshooting and working along with Vendors in case of critical scenarios

• Working on requests like customizing/creating Service Monitors, Process Monitors, URL Monitors, Event id monitors, Rule creation and any custom monitoring based on the request.
• Customizing/creating Management Packs based on the requirement to segregate store respective configurations.
• General activities like agent onboarding, offboarding and maintenance.
• Fetching and Scheduling Availability, Performance and Alert reports from SCOM as required by business.
• Taking responsibility of incidents assigned to Tools queue and fixing the issues accordingly.
• Providing immediate support for Major Incidents.
• Raising cases and working with vendor (Microsoft) as per business.

• Analyzing noisy & false alerts and thus disabling through overrides.
• Automating day to day activities by scheduling customized health reports for SCOM Infra - consisting of Management Servers state, Greyed agents list, top Alert contributors, top Event contributors, DBs free space.
• Analyzing trend of top alerts by rules/monitor and working with platform team for fine tuning the same to add more meaning to the alerts/incidents generated.
• Working on monthly compliance reports; fixing the gap between CIs available in CMDB vs Objects on Monitoring Tools.

• Renewing SCOM MS and GW Server Certificates as and when applicable.
• Installing and configure New Gateways to Management servers.
• Configuring failovers between Management Servers and GateWay servers.
• Performing Update Rollups on SCOM environment and ensuring the platform is compliant as per vendor records; helping in business and bug fixes.
• Importing third-party MPs (like OpsLogix, HP OneView, AWS MP and more) when required by business and customizing the components as per requirement.
• Updating the installed Management Packs when required by business and to get the latest object discoveries & bug fixes.
• Creating new resource pool when required by business for discovering and monitoring new objects.
• Creating run as accounts when required by business for new monitoring configurations, safe and securely distributing it to required run as profiles.
• Creating and customizing new Channels, Subscribers and Subscriptions as required by business.

• Played a significant role during SCOM 2012R2 to SCOM 2016 migration; side-by-side migration.
• Was responsible for migrating Windows and Linux agents from SolarWinds to SCOM 2012 R2
• Supported for SCOM 2016 to SCOM 2019 migration; side-by-side.
