Core Responsibilities

• Leadership and Operational Execution [ Wholesale Lending/Syndications/Trade and working capital ] : Manage and mentor a 10-person team executing legal document review, automated/manual Doc2Data extraction of key and business terms required for FED, and validation for seamless client onboarding and documentation within Commercial and Investment Banking line of business.
• Collateral Management : Manage global procedures and oversee end-to-end collateral documentation under lending space with best experience on LoanIQ, UCC filings and collateral loading/perfection.
• Lending Documentation - Pre-deal closure and Contract drafting and vetting : Monitor credit documentation at the pre-execution stage by drafting facility and collateral documents for Indian loan deals as per templates and checks in accordance with RBI norms, including signature verifications and compliance with stamp duty implications.
• Performance Metrics & best client experience : Generate comprehensive performance scorecards and KPI reports for senior management; SLAs and resource planning, and bring in best practices to provide highest client experience and operational excellence.
• KRI Management : Define, track, and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) on documentation, maintaining near-zero regulatory breaches and mitigating legal/credit exposure, facility agreements and constitutional documents.
• Regulatory Governance, Audit & Controls : Translate evolving global policies and legal frameworks into actionable requirements, enforcing rigorous controls to ensure 100% accuracy, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.
• BASEL III norms - Financially impacting procedures : Oversight & regular reviews to ensure Margin loans for Asset Wealth Management receive favorable capital treatment through underlying BASEL norms. Capital expense save of $15+mn/quarter.
• Pledging program - Financially impacting procedures : Ensuring loans meeting the required criteria as per FRBNY are pledged as per Borrower-In-Custody program. Avg pledge pool of $3bn/quarter.
• Cross-Functional Escalation & Resolution : Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point in the team, partnering directly with Legal, Compliance, Credit, technology and other partners to engage, influence and resolve in and around the functional area.
• Digital Transformation & Strategy: Spearhead data-driven thematic reviews and gap assessments, technology workflows and change management for driving continuous process improvement.
• Cross team & Department wide activities: Conducting high team engagement sessions on product/knowledge, leadership activities, capability assessments & skills planning.

Document notable accomplishments

• Achieved recognition as 'Best Performer' three times in two years and received two 'Quarterly Excellence Awards' for the following achievements.

a. Borrower-in-Custody Program: Increased the pledge population by three times.

b. Capital expense save: 800+ Eligible margin loan facilities received favourable capital treatment for firm's benefit through BASEL III norms, thereby reducing risk-weighted assets (RWA) through netting with an impact of more than $31mn.

• Delivered 3 automation and titles/taxonomy revamp projects, enhancing operational efficiency and standardisation.

Played a crucial role in $5.7mn end-to-end documentation project, focusing on deal setup, outside counsel portal, documentation, collateral loading, and pledge perfection.

• Legal Data Operations: Manage team's process for 10+ activities, including Document review, drafting, validation for wholesale lending, trade and working capital loans and structured finance.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies : Partnered with controls & compliance teams on multiple action plans like collateral handling, Additional Quality Check ( AQC ) assurance, physical record management, document lifecycle.
• Led team of 12 in Bangalore and supported 4-member team in Brooklyn, ensuring effective collaboration and project execution.
• Oversee audit and control activities: Led internal and external audit engagements including periodic testings.
• Drive operational transformations : Drive process optimization and strategic scaling initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and business growth with operational risk assessment checks [ Operational efficiency of 2+ FTE in 2025 ].
• Conduct resiliency and testing protocols : Implementing resiliency, business continuity planning [ BCP ] and systemic testing to ensure procedure robustness throughout.
• Timely submissions of KPIs and metrics for performance analysis, while managing ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements.

• Led Global Trade Finance documentation project across 20+ middle office teams, managing end-to-end document lifecycle (onboarding, data extraction, settlements) for Core Trade, Supply Chain, Sales Finance, and Export Finance products.
• Recognition as a core performer in the team at the Global Town Hall in Q2 2022.
• Transformative initiatives: Used data tools like Alteryx and Sharepoint for streamlining reporting by collaborating with data analytics.
• Established procedures for the automated purging of e-documents from data repositories to complete the end-to-end deal lifecycle.

• Litigating in cases related to property, family, consumer and constitutional laws and negotiable instruments.
• Filing of suits and adjournments.
• Drafting, formatting and conveyancing of legal documents and agreements.
• Liaising with government and municipal officials in getting statutory and other legal clearances.
